The view from our room (room 3) was lovely. The beds were very comfy and the room was immaculate. Lovely shower and the product provided in the bathroom were great. Towels were nice and big which always makes a difference! The staff upon arrival were not too helpful. We were up a short flight of stairs and were not offered any assistance with our luggage. I was told the morning of our stay that there was a private function all evening. Had we not had other plans this would have been a problem as it is situated in a very small village and we would have potentially has no where to eat. The room was unbearably hot. The heated towel rail was blasting out heat all night. Considering there was snow on the ground outside we had the windows open wide and were still unable to use covers to sleep! Mentioned to 3 members of staff and nothing was said/done. Although the beds were very comfortable we were unable to sleep after 05.30 as the people above us were up and the floor boards are so creaky they woke us. I am a very heavy sleeper but was kept wide awake. Again mentioned to staff and no apology offered. Half way through breakfast I was abruptly told I had to move my car if it was in the bottom car park as they had a wedding fair. i am a very reasonable person and had someone come over, apologised for interrupting and asked where our cars were parked I would have had no problem with it at all. I was walking across the room to refill my orange juice and stopped with a point out of the window. I actually planned my stay there to attend the very wedding fair they were discussing. Overall these things really ruined the stay. I was offered no compensation for any of the inconvenience, I spend a lot of time in hotels and have become accustom to 4 and 5* service. Suffice to say they have the setting but not the staff!

Great place to stay. Really liked the scenic views from room and outside. Good and helpful staff. Breakfast is really delayed as you have to wait for it to get served. Tool more than 30 min in morning which is difficult to accept.

Stopped for mid morning coffee on my special birthday day. Had my young grandchildren with us but staff very friendly and helpful. Then went over the road for a manicure which was just superb again friendly staff very good with my two granddaughters, 2 and 4 who also had their nails painted, great fun.

Amazing wedding venue and perfect for a special occasion, the food is wonderful as are the staff. Highly recommend.

Had non-alcoholic drinks there; pleasant staff and setting ... Would love to see more vegetarian and vegan options!
