Amazing venue for all celebrations cannot thank Danny the events manager enough for the way he looked after us at our recent funeral wake
Came here yesterday for the Toulouse v Halifax match. Decent stadium and staff friendly. Great that it has plenty of parking too, but also not far from carparks elsewhere.
A really good stadium which is quite close to the town centre. The main stand has a good collection of food and the facilities are quite modern. It's not just a football stadium either. It hosts Rugby games too.
Home of halifax town football club. This was my 1st visit to the Shay with my boys at a local Derby Halifax vs Rochdale . As away fans we was sat in the old stadium, very dated. Food and drinks are served from metal containers at the back of the stadium. The staff was friendly, We had no trouble here being away fans
The shay it’s at a pretty good stadium inside n out the football might not be up to standard but the rugby has the high level s of passion plus the home of Andysmanclub plus I have attended a few events at this stadium it makes you feel very welcome I would so it’s very accommodating puts some local grounds to shame so yes any sports events going on go give them a watch they miss a good fan base but have potential.
We recently held our 'celebration of life' for my Dad at the Shay, it was a perfect day. A big thank you to Danny and all the staff that worked on the day, you were amazing, nothing was too much trouble From all the family
My first visit to the Shay Stadium. Got there around 2hrs before KO,so was able to park right outside the main stand for £5. Short walk into town. The atmosphere was great, the fans were enthusiastic, and made a lot of noise. Good day out.
The Shay Stadium is the home of Halifax's football team and is a mixture of modern and older standing and seating areas. The stands behind the goals are standing only, whereas the pitch side stands are all seater. Most attendees prefer the seated west stand and the hardcore home support occupy the south stand. In my case the other stands were empty bar some flags and banners. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming with a sense of community that comes from the town being relatively isolated from the rest of West Yorkshire. Facilities are ok but there's a lot of room for improvement or investment to make it a better experience for fans. It's another stadium with a unique experience to offer for curious travellers.
£20 entry loses it a star, and initially no beer was available, but to be fair, it was made available at half time. We had several conversations with stewards who were excellent and made the visit very enjoyable. Facilities were good. Food was available and very good. Score was terrible.
Attended Halifax Panthers meal last night on 10 August 2024. Excellent food and setting.
