Absolute mess. If you don't have cash quite common these days you need to pay by app. Almost impossible to do this as there is no mobile reception at the location. When you do manage to connect I had to use Boots WiFi you will be charged £2.10, £0.30 more than the price stated on the machine. It took me about 20 minutes to make the transaction. This is the sort of thing that puts people off visiting town centres.
The council car park offering free blue badge parking and big spaces near the shops. There is also free public toilets near the shops. Good car park for the coop and post office. Also good to cut through for costa and subway. been to the Thursday market here and not impressed, only 1 or 2 stalls when I visited.
A large council run car park right in the middle of Ashbourne which makes it very handy to visit all the town’s amenities. Usual car parking fees with free parking at set times for those with resident car parking permits . Also public toilets available which are kept very clean.
The council need to get their act together for users of this car park. Only cash is allowed at the machines - no contactless payments of any kind.nnThe only other option is to 'pay by phone' but that entails a lengthy process to set up an account which is ridiculous!nnNeeds fixing!
Great place to park in the town. At the moment free from 12 o'clock. Also if you arrive at 11.30 press the green button on the machine and get a free half hour ticket too.
