Great hiking area on a good day. Car park near fingle bridge inn. A 2-3 km walk around the hill and river. Great for kids and pets alike.
Ansom this place is indeed! None more so than in the Autumn, nest visited for the spectacular colour in the Teign Valley. Enjoy a walk along and around the river and stop for refreshments in the pub and take Time to absorb all on offer. Extended walks can take you to neolithic castle grounds and castle Drogo alike.
Good view but just one small bench
The Teign Valley walk is great. Two and a half hours, not too steep up though make sure you follow the National Trust walk in the way they suggest. Doing it in reverse would mean quite a steep walk back up and beautiful scenery and viewpoints along the way.nnYou could stop at the Fingle Bridge Inn at the bottom for lunch but I'm not sure I'd want to keep walking after that. Better to head down once you've finished walking, but make sure you've checked the food serving times if you're after a meal.
