It is a part of the black taxi political tour. A lot of history, told my people that were part of it. In order to get the full picture one needs to see both sides. A highly involved and deep tour with some nerve racking stories. Highly recommend to do it so you can understand what went on. There is still some tension in the air but the first steps to peace are made. Take your time and listen to the stories. Take a morning tour.
Great tour. Many things kept in good appearance
We were on a troubles tour and we came and signed our name. The tour itself and the peace wall was very interesting and informative.
Class to listen and see how all the troubles started and at this moment have been peaceful and blackcabs tours and our guide Davy was great he made this trip Well worth while the whole tour was down for one and half hours but it ran until 2 and a half hours was fantastic thanks again Davy
A bit scary place, however during the daytime it looks fairly peacefully. We arrived early in the morning, and see no other tourist around. Our taxi driver told us to walk around, take picture, and waited for us in his cab. It's way more enjoyable to see it if you have a guide, or a drive who can tell you a bit of a history of that place. 5 minutes is enough to see everything.
One of the many murals honoring those that died during the "Troubles." You will find these murals on both sides of the wall.
I think it's great to remember your past but why is there a need to instill seperation into your children, should move on
The mural to the left is a bit creepy with the way the guns follow the viewer through the site. Overall, it is interesting to see the Protestant/Loyalist view on the troubles.
History of the "Troubles" in Belfast, Northern Ireland
Informative black taxi tour, by people directly involved in the troubles, some Protestant some Catholic guides, giving you history they have lived. Still not a safe place it seems, even after 20yr of "peace" we travelled both sides of the gates & "peace wall" that still divides the communities. The murals on both sides remembering people are antagonistic it seems the marching season is just another antagonistic thing It seems sad. Until the hatred is let go by everyone for what has gone on in the past, this will continue.
