Been going here for over 15 years. Not sure if they're under new management but if you don't go on Thursday evening just expect stale bread. If it's already in a plastic bag, it's been there for a few days. Got some bread today for a dinner party and it was so stale, was shocked and embarrassed. Such a shame!! This was one of my favourite bakeries. They need to start taking care of local customers and not just the large company orders that seem to get far better service and actual fresh bread.
While the bakes were nice, the offering was somewhat tainted by the owners reception. Not very welcoming, gave me the wrong loaf it was lovely but not what I ordered and then kept being brushed off or told to queue again to buy items from the deli although they serviced others without queuing. I wear a scarf which unfortunately seems to be the issue here. Sadly won't be going again
Very well established bakery that's been producing quality food for many years. Maybe a few too many years for some of the staff as they seem tired and the smile is missing from their service. But you don't eat that, so don't dwell on it too much.
Yesterday I buy 2 bagel with salmon... but it was no fresh... I think is 2 days in the window! Really disgusting another i put rubbish! Small bagel with salmon £3.20 is expensive!!! You are in Gants Hill... no Central London!
Love the salt beef and salmon / cheese bagels from here. Lots of options to choose from for your bagel fillings. All breads and pastry deserts made on site and all fresh. There is a large selection of deserts cakes, pastries and biscuits. This place is definitely worth a visit.
The babka and smoked turkey are excellent. Plus love the old school mom n pop style interior :-
The best bagels, cakes, salt beef and anything else they sell you'll like. The need to open South London they would make a even more money.
I've been coming here for years really good bagels with rwat fillings, they have a lot of cakes as well, there is other food there too I assume Jewish although I'm not Jewish so don't know
A good place to pop in for a filling snack ,cakes,patisserie &deli, and Bagels. I have seen some review s {workers just work most time they don't care} eat and feel sweet,don't let a bad worker spoil your day,****
Great selection of yummy bread and cakes, except The BAGELS! what has happened to the size of these? They should rename them 'cocktail bagels' Such a shame. Chollah rolls have also shrunk in size. All other food delicious but please, Mr Baker, make your bagels bigger!
