A beautiful location with lovely grounds. With animals such as peacocks,pigs, goats giant rabbits and an alpaca wandering around. The staff are friendly and helpful but what let's the place down is the rundown feel in the bedrooms: Tired decor, uncomfortable beds with the mattress springs almost poking through and a shower that could not be turned down so very very hot. Hopefully the bedrooms will be refreshed and refurbished soon.
We recently spent nearly two weeks at Shallowford House with a group of over 40 people, including children of all ages, and it was nothing short of amazing! The house itself was immaculately clean, and the extensive grounds were simply beautiful. The children had an absolute blast riding their bikes all day and exploring the small petting farm, which added so much charm to our stay.nnWhat truly made this experience special were the hosts, Simon and Claire. I have never met such warm and accommodating hosts—nothing was ever too much trouble for them. They were there for us every step of the way, ensuring our stay was perfect in every way.nnWe all thoroughly enjoyed our time at Shallowford House and can’t wait to return. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful and welcoming getaway!
Sheila and I enjoyed our stay at Shallowford House last week 25-27June. I think the staff have taken into account previous reviews and provided ample really good food including condiments and everything else we needed. They were really attentative to any requests we made. The location is lovely even with more than usual traffic because of road closures and we enjoyed our wandering around the grounds.. Thanks to all the staff!
A lovely peaceful time on 11th Nov. A beautiful service. . Set in lovely gardens. Loved all the animals. Delicious lunch served.
What an amazing venue to stay in. Me andn20+ of our Men's group stayed here for a full weekend in July, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time of worship and restoration with great views: with an entire complex to ourselves where we could have quiet moments of reflection and conversation.nnThank you, to the staff and all who made our stay so memorable.
