I was in FOOD HEAVEN tonight!! First class dinner! The grilled goat's cheese starter was absolutely delicious,  followed by a gorgeous, delicate piece of  baked hake in a parsley butter sauce! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals! The service was impeccable and the staff so warm, friendly and welcoming! The restaurant was warm and cosy and so pretty with all the twinkling fairy lights! Would highly recommend a visit and will definitely come again when next up from Kent!! Thanks to everyone who made us feel so welcome!

Best meal out EVER! Melisa sorted everything out as we were all coming from different regions of the UK for my fathers birthday so 11 in total. We had to do a pre order, but I just think this adds to the cooking quality as they have more time to prepare. Which means service is top notch, no waiting for a meal to turn up before we could all start. 6 blades beef - superb! meat just shredded Grilled goats cheese, lamb shank, pork belly actually everything was spot on. Staff were attentive and friendly. It was a first time but certainly not the last.  Thank you Melisa and the team for a most wonderful experience.  Will F

Fantastic food, the restaurant has a cozy and comfortable vibe. Honestly one of the best things I’ve had ever. The service was also excellent, we shall return when we’re in the area!

Lovely locally sourced food, reasonably priced and fantastic friendly staff, We had a lovely table on the outdoor terrace overlooking the river. I can highly recommend this place. One of our regular hauntsFood: 5/5

We went to Shakesbys in between lockdowns last year and the whole meal was absolutely delicious, we plan to go back again very soon. The lemon and pistachio roulade was the best dessert I’ve ever had, I even ordered another slice to takeaway so I could give it to my Mum who was baby sitting. Highly recommend the pork belly as well!
