This is a pretty fast way to get whatever you're buying from the Argos website. We bought an Xbox wired controller for 30 pounds new- better than buying it second hand with no warranty for 20 pounds off Facebook. Place your order on the website first, get the transaction ref# and id# from your email order confirmation then head into the closest Argos to you to pick it up. There's not much happening instore as all the products are in the warehouse behind the counter so it loses some points for the shopping experience. But for ease and fast pickup, thumbs up and the staff all were happy to help.
Exceptionally poor customer service and managers that seem to delight in customer dissatisfaction. I wish that I could give Argos at Marsh Barton in Exeter zero stars. Once again, I have ordered and paid for a high value item online that was confirmed as "in stock" only to discover that my order had been mysteriously cancelled in the time that it took me to drive there less than 45 minutes. I now have to wait for five working days for the £1,249 to be refunded to my bank account. No explanation was given for the cancellation and I didn't receive the cancellation email until after I had tried to collect the item however the grinning manager said that although they had cancelled my order I could purchase the item if I used the in store terminals despite the fact that I had already paid for this item and it was originally showing as "in stock and available for immediate collection". So, that's £2,498 that I have had to pay out when the original item was in stock? Incidentally, this only seems to happen at this branch of Argos and the only reason that I use it is because most items show up as "in stock" and "ready for immediate collection".
Went to the store this afternoon while sitting in a 1hr queue of traffic to return a dog guard the order number was on the box and also when we took it back the first time they would order a new one for us so an agreement was met however the person serving us started to take the product out to see if its okay which it was however he wanted proof of a receipt which was on our phone unfortunately the phone battery died and we weren't able to return the product. Highly disappointed!
I wish I could give it no stars, as it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had from any store- incredibly rude, arrogant and borderline aggressive. Not only did they treat me, a customer who was there to buy their product, like a second class citizen who was going to steal everything in that place, I had to attempt to move a 65kg item by myself, which ended in a fellow customer helping me out of pity. Even if it was in their store policies to not lift or move heavy objects, there is a basic decency and politeness to answering a person's question, let alone a customer wanting to buy something which I even contemplated not doing. In hindsight it does make me wonder if my skin colour was a reason for this demoralising behaviour, but even without that aspect this is not the way anyone should be treated, ever!
I recently visited this store to collect a barbell with weights. The young man who was responsible for handing me the items didn't hesitate in asking me if I wanted help to carry them to my car without me having to ask. He kindly put them in my boot for me and was really polite and helpful. I really appreciated this
Some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The duty Manager Cath was rude, disrespectful and condescending. We have purchased items from Argos for over 40 years. We currently have an account with Argos! However we will not use them again and the account will now be closed. And to think this is why people have turned to online shopping.
It’s permanently closed, but says it is open . DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!
Only popped in to buy something small but was unsure if it had the correct fitting that I required. Was served by a customer service assistant called Harry. He could not of been more helpful. Seemed like he genuinely wanted to make sure I did not purchase an item that was unsuitable for the task. Well done.
Marie was excellent, printer I ordered wasn't in stock so she managed to find the next model up in stock for £9 more and sorted me out without hassle
Not a bad argos. Building is in need of some TLC mind. Water damaged tiles, or missing tiles. Some cleaning required and some staff need to improve their attitude. Otherwise all good
