Had a wonderful trip both ways. Great fun and full of nostalgia. Some fabulous views from the train also as seen attached. The guards on the train are knowledgeable and friendly. They do it for the love of steam trains so please be courteous to them. Remember they are there for your enjoyment too. The platforms on all the stops along the route are clean and tidy displaying signs of the era making it a great experience. Thank you from us for making it a great day.
Our carriages Specially adapted vehicles, which allow wheelchair access, are available on certain trains and can accommodate wheelchairs that are within the dimensions prescribed in government regulations covering public transport 700mm wide by 1200mm long. Disability-friendly toilets are also fitted in some of these vehicles. At all stations, excluding Northwood Halt, ramps are available which connect between the train and the platform. The train crew and station staff will assist passengers in wheelchairs if required; they are used to doing this. We strongly recommend all wheelchair users to seek advice prior to booking. All trains are wheelchair accessible, but some of the carriages’ accommodation is not suitable. Suitable disabled accommodation on-train is strictly limited, and only available on a first come, first served basis. Due to operational difficulties, wheelchair accommodation may sometimes be unavailable at short notice. We can only accommodate standard designs of wheelchair and mobility scooter. Unfortunately, some larger vehicles are too wide and heavy to traverse the ramp into our carriages. PLEASE DISCUSS YOUR REQUIREMENTS WITH OUR STAFF BEFORE BOOKING. GET IN TOUCH WITH THE TEAM Wheelchairs, pushchairs and buggies can be accommodated on our trains, but MUST be stored in the Guard’s Carriage when travelling. It may be necessary to fold these items during busy periods. Our dining trains Due to the historic design of our dining car carriages with their narrow doors and gangways, it is NOT possible to accommodate wheelchairs at a table in one of these carriages. It is also important to note that passengers with mobility issues will need to climb up or down a step to get into or out of the train. For those who are able to walk a short distance wheelchairs can be folded and carried in the brake van. PLEASE DISCUSS YOUR REQUIREMENTS WITH OUR STAFF BEFORE BOOKING.
A wonderfully atmospheric Station encapsulating the sadness and regrett associated with a certain Dr Beeching, when roundabout very notices dating from the early 1960's give an insight to the bustling Station, having said that positively it here and gives some historical context to the younger generations. We have travelled before and indeed I had z footplate experience from here to Kidderminster, its a wonderful Station a short walk from the wonderful river severn and town centre. If model raikways are your thing a delightful and reasonably priced shop is located in the car park along side a Cafe. The Station footbridges gives you s fantastic view over the station and town Also a fantastic view of the repainted Queen Elizabeth locomotive stabled there and a not so well turned out Class 37
Fantastic visit to Bewdley GW railway station. It so happened a steam and diesel train were both in the station.
I love this place, grew up around here! Look for the attention to details on the intermediate stations too. It's more than preserving the locos and rolling stock here, it's the buildings and the way of life too...
This weekend is the Spring Gala for steam with several visiting engines. Most trains were pretty full although the weather was'nt kind. Ir needs all the help it can get financially as costs for everything has gone through the roof. It must not be allowed to fail.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Visited the Station for the 1940's journey. Very well organised, great sets and costumes. Hats off to all those involved.
