Charlie Shaw, predatory behaviour as an operational support officer at Sevenoaks council.nnI received a parking ticket for a road I have never parked on. I appealed this, using their own photo evidence which clearly shows my vehicle, not parked on the road the pcn said I was. My appeal was denied by Charlie Shaw, an operational support officer at the council. Charlie sent me a letter of intimidation, trying to strong arm me into paying for the ticket. I will happily let this go to court, which we all know it won’t.nnI’d like to note, the response to my appeal was within 24 hours. A few years ago, I had a response to an appeal that was accepted but it took months, so it seems they like to let the stress fester for months when planning to accept but tell you instantly when they plan to intimidate you into paying.nnAs a fairly young man, I will not succumb to this predatory behaviour, but imagine an elderly person or someone who has just passed their driving test, I’m sure they are much more likely to succumb to this kind of pressure.nnGenuinely surprising for such a lovely, respectable area.
Extremely poor District Council with total lack of small business council tax support ....
Council tax is sky high probably the highest in Kent. Run by the Torries currently so no surprise. What you get is bin bags but no bins!!! Their customer service is a joke. I sent them an email about not being able to log in to my council tax account. Instead of sorting it out they sent an email that they forwarded my email to IT , never heard anything back. The council website is useless too.
I received a parking ticket for parking on a double yellow line outside of my daughter’s school for 4 min. I appealed it on the grounds of my medical condition, herniated disc and compressed sciatic nerve classed as disability under the Disability Act and backed up by medical documentation. My appeal was rejected by Charlotte B, my condition not even considered. I then tried to contact the parking services team, no one getting back to me, excuse - the manager Travis K was off work. I formally complained to the council about the appalling, inconsiderate and discriminatory attitude of their staff. Received the response from Julie H that everything was done according to guidelines. My chronic back problem and severe mobility issue making me temporarily disable is not good enough of a mitigation to cancel my ticket as I don’t hold a blue badge, but I was advised to apply for one! Really?! SDC serving the public well NOT! Shame on you!
After sending an email and not getting a response for a few weeks, I called yesterday evening to chase it up. One of the team forwarded my email to the correct team. This afternoon I am bowled over by the response: someone from the refuse team went to the site this morning, met my builder and has come up with a plan for collecting our refuse and recycling for new flats! Amazing!
