From arrival the welcome was genuine and warm, hassle free check-in. I needed an iron and ironing board and it was brought to my room within 15 minutes.nBreakfast was excellent and my only gripe was that there was no filter coffee with it unless you paid extra. I had the full breakfast choice cooked and continental and thought it would have included this but it was sachets of coffee which were the same as in the rooms.nThe room was quiet, clean and tidy and all the lights and tv etc worked and I enjoyed a cup of tea before bed after a good soak in the bath. Nice powered shower in the morning and ready to face the day after a good night’s rest. Would definitely recommend place and plenty of safe and well lit parking.
Was very easy to park and access the building...I'm a wheelchair user so this was important. I had guests visiting so we all had a carvery and I've got to say it was the nicest carvery I've had in a long time. The meat was beautifully cooked all the veg was fresh an tasty...not dried up at all. The gravy was thick and red hot. We also ordered puddings and the only downfall in the trip was they took ages to come out...but when they did we all thoroughly enjoyed. Will definitely recommend to others that if they're in the area its definitely worth a visit!
This was a great stay considering the cost. Great value for money. Only thing that let it down was the reception was in the pub not in the accommodation but there was no sign up at the reception when approaching from the car park opposite the door. There was a large sign at the entrance from the pub direction though but we didn't see this initially. This meant that for some time we were stood at reception at the accommodation ringing the night porter bell wondering how to get booked in! But it was our fault so reflection on the accommodation.
We had a fantastic lunch here, great portion sizes for both adults, kids and especially on the gluten free menu. Very difficult to find such a variety. Kids eat for a £1 was an added bonus, the manager Phill was extremely friendly and made us feel welcomed. Will be back for sure.
Review of Sunday Carvery at The Sessile Oak, LlanellinnI recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at The Sessile Oak for their Sunday carvery, and I must admit, it was quite disappointing.nnUpon arrival, we were met with the confusing situation of having to order through a QR code, with no further explanation or assistance provided. As someone who appreciates a bit of guidance when trying out a new restaurant, this was frustrating. A brief introductory rundown on the ordering process would have gone a long way.nnOur frustrations continued when we noticed that our table was lacking basic necessities—specifically cutlery and napkins. After asking for them, we were left waiting for an unwelcome 10 minutes, which added to the sense of neglect we felt as customers.nnWhen the food finally arrived, it unfortunately didn't manage to redeem the experience. The carvery itself was disappointing; the meats were lukewarm and lacking in flavor, making for a rather bland meal. A Sunday carvery should be a hearty and comforting experience, but this offering did little to excite the palate or warm the soul. It felt as though care had not been taken in the preparation, leaving much to be desired.nnTo top it all off, the decor of The Sessile Oak—both inside and out—also left a lot to be desired. The establishment looked tired and in desperate need of a major renovation. Dull colors and worn furnishings added to the overall sense of neglect and didn’t create the inviting atmosphere one might hope for in a Sunday dining experience.nnOverall, the Sunday carvery at The Sessile Oak did not meet my expectations. Poor customer service, lackluster food, and tired decor all contributed to what should have been a pleasant outing instead becoming a regrettable experience. I hope the management takes these concerns to heart and makes the necessary improvements; it certainly has potential, but it needs a lot of TLC!
