Just got back .. fantastic well cooked meal and the cocktails were so different but really nice
Perfect stay! Fascinating building with something interesting to look at in every corner. Spotless and very comfortable room, warm and cosy, had a great sleep. Breakfast was delicious, all the options you’d want. The owners have created someone very special at the Priory, the staff are super helpful, we arrived hungry and although the kitchen was closed a meal was cooked for us specially. Top class stay. A wee treasure we’ll definitely be back
The Priory is a beautiful, historical building, full of character and the team that run it are equally engaging. This is not your run-of-the-mill hotel and restaurant. It's intentionally quirky and operates as a social enterprise in the heart of Louth. It's a community in its own right and also an important part of the Louth community. Dining here is an adventure and an experience - the menu is set on a daily basis, making the best of what's available to create interesting, unusual and super-tasty dishes.
What a lovely place, rooms were clean, the bed was so comfy wanted to take it home, Staff were great, friendly , and so efficient, felt very looked after. Paul was great we turned up new years eve just needing a bed for the night on our journey back south. Was welcomed and invited to the live band and celebrations to see the new year in, with complimentary food and a glass of Bubbly. What a lovely quirky place.
My daughter and I came for the tasting menu on Friday 30 September . It was my 2nd visit and I wondered if it would live up to the brilliance of the the first trip. We were NOT disappointed. From the initial reception through to our farewell we had the most wonderful evening. Paul and his amazing team do everything to make your experience unforgettable. The food is honest and unpretentious and it’s such a joy to have a culinary surprise with each course we had 10!! . The ambience and attention to detail with table settings creates an air of luxury- but the price is affordable and worth every penny . We would recommend this restaurant to anyone - please go and see for yourself FIona and Anya
We came to Louth for my Grandsons 1st birthday. The rooms were very clean. The breakfast was beautiful. The staff were very polite and helpful. Would stay here again, when visiting the family.
First time coming here. Ben on the front desk saw us in the carpark, opened the front door, booked us in offered us a choice of two available rooms, gave us a guided tour explaining the history of the hotel. We then met Paul the owner. The hotel is lovely, the rooms are comfortable the breakfast was delicious. Will definitely return.Rooms: 5/5
This is a very special place. Sadly, we only managed one night due to the inconvenience of work! Our room was apparently the honeymoon room, very comfy 4 poster bed, lovely view of the gardens and an en suite with a fabulous bath, which I didn't get to try. Check out was 11am, so good opportunity for a lie in. Breakfast served anytime between 8 and 10, opted for 9.30 and got it delivered to the room. Breakfast was not only really tasty, but enjoyed in bed! OK, so the hotel isn't for everyone. If you're after luxury style then I'm not sure it's the place for you. If like me you love quirky places that have charm and character, super friendly staff and is all about doing some good in the community then don't take my word for it... get yourself there! To Paul and the team, thank you!! I hope comedy night went well, sorry to have missed it. We will be back!
A pleasant, unusual, good value, hotel a few minutes walk from the centre of town and for walks in the delightful scenery starting at the other end of the town. Friendly, helpful, staff. The room was clean and included breakfast, for which there was no menu but had the full range of choices; we received everything we asked for from any full English breakfast possibilities, toast, to light bites. We would stay there again!
Having read the reviews before booking it was as expected! A period building with quirky touches. It was lovely and clean. We've just had 2 nights stay and throughly enjoyed it. The staff are very attentive and friendly.
