Furniture centre Porthmadog
Established by Seren in 1999 our furniture project relocated to our new premises in August 2004, This project has been established to provide environmental and social benefit, we do this by generating revenue that will further develop employment, training and independent living opportunities for people with learning difficulties and by diverting furniture items from the land fill waste stream.
An active supporter of our work is Channel 4s House Auction presenter and professional property developer James Gibbon. He says: "Serens recycling centre is not a make do alternative to buying new, it is a sensible and socially responsible way of buying unique and original furniture pieces"
Re-use Furniture
This covers as wide a range of Furniture and household items as possible, ranging from office, bedroom, lounge, kitchen, bathroom and conservatory furniture:
Such items have been generously donated to us to sell, by individuals and organisations throughout Gwynedd who support the work that we do for the benefit of others.
New Furniture
The second type of restored furniture that we always have available is, re-manufactured transport damaged and end of line furniture stocks from a number of the UK's largest furniture retailers, which we sell assembled and at less than 60% of the original high street retail price.
These stocks include, contemporary leather three piece suites, dinning tables and chairs, king, double, single and bunk beds, pine wardrobes, chests of drawers, coffee tables, entertainment units and conservatory furniture to name but a few.
Donations
We urgently need good quality, re-usable furniture and other household items, and domestic electrical appliances.
We will collect free of charge exept electrical item
(a small charge of £10 per item).
