Close to me for materials and some of the staff are lovely, but it could improve a little as some of the male staff especially when behind the tills take forever to give you eye contact. sometimes I drive all the way to other places just to avoid unnecessary ques in this place. maybe given extra training for customer care would improve the attitude and brighten up the place?
As a landscape gardener, I shop almost exclusively at Selco and have done for many years. I give 5 stars because they go out of their way to help and assist. Without our very positive working relationship, my projects wouldn't run to time and have customers very satisifed with the results. The staff are excellent, as is the management. Highly, highly recommend and thank you Selco, you're ace!
I recently visited my Nottingham store as this would be our 2nd extension. I wanted to say a personal thank you to Chris Errol and the dark haired lady, sorry cant remenber your name they are a great team and always willing to go the extra mile. I went in on a very busy saturday and was shocked to see some of the disrespect from so customers, unable to wait there turn to be served. It common curtesy to allow people to be served and there enquiry be dealt with by the people that are there to help. Its common sense if you have come in with a query then you need to wait your turn i have always had a very pleasant eperience from yhe store and will always make it my go to retailer. Chris Errol Brown haired lady, and all the staff Thank you. I would just like to mention to management that when a refund is now being processed it is not ideal for a customer to be waiting for a tannoy call to be made and then for a manager to turn up approx 7 minutes later vecause they may be busy dealing woth othet things. PLEASE SORT THIS OUT MANAGEMENT
Went into Nottingham, basford selco this morning and waited 15 minutes to be served. Jane reluctantly helped with searching for a product looking at me like I was something she scraped off her shoe. Tracy just joking and laughing with colleagues ignoring me. Big fat male member of staff serving his trade mates, then suddenly 'sorry love on me break now'. Woman with dark straight hair, walked off to help trade mate... Staff just kept walking past me as if invisible eventually walked out and went all the way to Wickes, paid more, but couldn't fault them! Selco is on my doorstep and we're halfway through a refurb but will NEVER EVER GO IN THERE AGAIN!!
Better than B&Q ,best place to buy your building products from
Best builders merchants, cheap prices and staff very willing to help. Thank you
Selco is a 10-min drive away from me, and I have been a trade customer of Selco since Mar2018, where I get most of my bulky building materials. The store obviously gets busy during builders' working hours-- which means queues can get long anytime after 7 till 4ish. I fully understand and appreciate that sometimes staff take a short break from all the madness in store from time to time.The store becomes more quiet from 6pm onwards, and I get served instantly most of the time around 6-6:30am or after 6pm. In terms of Products and Stocks, navigating around the store is quite simple manoeuvring a big trolley packed with building materials will obviously be a bit more challenging. I didn't come across a product that is 'out of stock', which should indicate they replenish their stocks quite often. In terms of customer services, I do get frustrated every now and then when I am stuck in a queue especially if the customer before need to proceed a refund, or have a lengthy conversation while enquiring about a product plus a bit of chit chat, or the delivery team messed up with that odd delivery by sending the wrong product, however I find the staff in store very friendly and helpful, and very often I get good discounts and good customer service as a trade customer. Some staff are very knowledgable too and can offer some good advices about building methods and their products ; When their telephone line becomes busy aka they didn't pick up during the day, I just ring up again and a staff do pick up after the 2nd/3rd time, where I can get a quote, place an order and arrange a delivery quite quickly. Since Selco does not provide a specific time for a delivery slot, I do appreciate that some delivery drivers do ring up prior to turning up ; I even ordered a beautiful kitchen for my home through Selco where some of their kitchens are manufactured by another company called ByBA, and their logistics wasn't very efficient! Overall, Nottingham Selco could perhaps review the area of queuing e.g. free up a row in the centre and create an aisle just for queuing and make checkout a bit more systematic. Otherwise, I enjoy really shopping in Selco! P.S. Their breakfast smells greasy but delicious as you walk into store in the morning lol-- their full breakfast is a bargain too! I never struggle to find a parking spot either ;
Put in a order on Tuesday, got an email saying will be delivered by Thursday, had problems before so phoned Nottingham to check, and they didn't have any order, so wanted to reorder, but won't get my delivery till Monday, and they say next day delivery? what a joke. Robin kirby.Just received a mail saying that my order is now being dispatched Monday .when I cancelled my order, nobody has a clue, very disappointed Robin kirby.
This branch in Nottingham is getting worse. I live nearby and using store due to having account with company I work for. Staff is very ignorant and waiting times are off the scale. I'm waiting here atm to have my wood cut for over 30min. Asked staff at the counter twice to have wood cut. Oh dear, who is the manager It's been on way to many occasions that no one is to serve you or only one till open and eight or more costumes waiting in the for long time. We are not on holiday, we are working guys. I can write for hours it seems because I'm still waiting
Everything you need for building for professionals and DIY .Service and staff fantastic would recommend
