I found a recommendation for the lobster roll and was dying to try it. Unlucky for me the lobster was overcook so it was hard to chew however it was very tasty, I’ll recommend to add some drops of Tabasco if you like spice. Service was exceptionally good and the waiter recommended this amazing Sauvignon Blanc. I’ll give the lobster roll a second chance for sure definitely coming back.
Food wasn’t great, left standing at the door as several staff walked past and ignored us. Cocktails were not good, heavy taste of coconut cream. We were outsiders from the hotel and thought the place would be good considering it’s in the hotel. Unfortunately it’s a shame.
Disappointed with customer service, beautiful place but waited long time to be attended to. After putting in our order, took nearly an hour to have food brought to us, we had to keep asking for when the food will be ready. We also had to ask 30 minutes later after finishing eating for our table to be cleared, which still took a long while still after asking 3 or 4 times. We ordered dessert before table next to us, that table got served and that was 30 to 40 mins after we ordered ours and we kept going to ask what time our dessert will come through only to be told at the end that the kitchen had run out of desserts, yet the table beside us received theirs even though we ordered first. Horrible experience, you need to hire more staff as there was only 3 waitresses working Saturday night. The waitresses were talked at by frustrated customers, to the point another table refused to pay half their bill because of the delays. It was very sad seeing the team leader Mary-Anne and her colleague Sophia in tears because of this, they really tried their best. Please hire more staff especially the weekends to avoid this, because you will loose a lot of customers.
Went there for booking at 11.30. The lady there said not opened till 12pm, shown her the booking, waited for coffee for 40 minutes. 1 floor staff for the whole place…poor girl. It’s overrated for now. We brunch a lot and this is the place we agreed to not go back again. 3 Cappuccino with 2 bigger cup so they compensated the small mug with a latte art with a heart on it, same price, bit heartless that. Shashuka with eggs you couldn’t dip in?!? Well, brunch at your own risk I suppose…
A lovely place. The food was very delicious. Specially the lamb course and the fish and chips. And the most special thing was the service. Staff are very friendly and prompt Definitely recommend!
We had a really great experience here. Food was outstanding, couldn’t fault a thing. The service was impeccable too. Would definitely return.
I’m Italian and the vegan rigatoni was amazing. I could have had 5 servings. Vegetarian options: You would never know it was vegan
Let’s wrap this up, to say the least - arrived at the Alex only to be told we had to be seated in the hotel restaurant as there was no availability in the secret garden, even though we had a confirmed booking for this. Once seated, we ordered a bottle of Pinot Grigio and the piri piri chicken for main but after ordering we were told they had neither; it would have been easier for the waiter to tell us what they did have rather than what the didn’t. Following this, we ordered a burger and fish and chip which were above average, adequate but didn’t match the price point. You’d be quicker going fishing in the Liffey than you would be waiting on your food in this place… had better fish from the filling cyabinet in Donegal of a Tuesday night service was good but didn’t excuse the extraordinary waiting times which just isn’t sufficient with the prices of this place!!! I’ll wrap this up like a kebab shop in temple bar, slow and steady doesn’t win the race, manager messed up the order blaming himself why the items we ordered weren’t available. He would be better off managing the Kilkenny football if they had one lol. Peace
Amazing place. We’ve booked for a dining for 2 and we’ve been welcomed and served by Jonathan and Junior Marquez, both very friendly and professional. Food was excellent and so was the environment. A big thank you to all the staff. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.
We went to the restaurant for the weekend brunch. It was a pleasant experience, the food was delicious. We are definitely coming back.
