I’m not normally one for leaving reviews however our stay at this apartment is worthy of note. The booking process was hassle free and we were able to get a hold of the owner on the phone to confirm timings prior to arriving. The standard of accommodation was very good and the allocated parking was a bonus too. If you are heading to a gig at the Hydro or SECC you won’t go far wrong as it’s a stone’s throw away from both. I’ll definetly be back.
The host was terrible. Not only did I have to contact him twice to see about getting access into the property he was also extremely inflexible through his own fault. He had traveled to another location in Scotland and kept telling me that "everything was last minute" although the reservation was made weeks ago. He then insisted I transfer him £200 security deposit before I had even set foot by the property by bank transfer or paypal. Anything could have been damaged before vying even walked in which It was, so please don’t do this if you do decide to book. He then sent his sister along to check us in again something he kept saying was a inconvenience and he didn’t want to do but there isn’t anything I can do about this as the booking was made weeks in advance. It had to also be bang on 4pm and not the flexible check in time that I was given. This was a real inconvenience and couldn’t enjoy the trip from the start. His sister also then wrote credit card details down on a bit of paper which is a huge breach of security, but I was told this was the only way that we would get into the property. When we did get in every wall is marked, the garden was full of cigarette ends and the rug in the living room was so frayed that a couple of us tripped over it. If it was moved, then whatever they have used to stick it down looked dirty. There was a flurry left in the freeze so the place isn’t thoroughly cleaned. I asked for the beds to be split into singles ages ago which he replied saying he would do but didn’t, this was the only reply I got for him cause he then even told me I could get another bed there but for more cash something i didn’t need but he is able to reply when trying to add on more money. Check out time was 10am so to only be given a place between 4pm and 10am is a very short time frame. Yes we were late on getting checked out but its amazing how quickly he wanted to get in touch to get us out but couldn’t get in touch to get us in! This guy wants to make some easy money and not provide the service. The huge concern is the writing down of credit card details and insisting cash in his bank before even walking in. Avoid this guy at all costs, he wants your cash but doesn’t want you give you a service. Also there are plenty other apartments available in the same block which will likely be run better. The location is good and the flat has a good size but the owner is dragging the experience and care needed down to make an easy bit of cash.<br/>UPDATE: After leaving a honest review I've received some unweclome messages. To confirm the group left about 15 minutes after check out time which inst unreasonable given the issues we encountered. Also the threat of taking money from a card means even 2 days later he must still have them written on paper and not disposed of them.<br/>FURTHER UPDATE: He is now getting people that he knows to post false reviews since this. Anwar Mcinally is connected to him on facebook so fake reviews are being made to try and recover this. Along with a harassment of texts all day since I posted the review. FINAL UPDATE: The host has tried to bill me for something days after leaving. The car park key card that was left in the safe box as none of us used it so this is even more reason for you to not put £200 into his bank account. Hes been unhappy with a review that hes tried to bill me £50 for anything. AVOID AVOID AVOID. The reviews after mine are all connected to him and are fake reviews.
Exceptionally clean apartment very close 5min walk to Hydro and SECC. Plenty of free parking. Have booked several times.
Had a wonderful stay, first class apartment, clean, perfect location for SECC and city centre, would stay again.
