I've always loved coming here, please note it's always cheaper to book online rather than at the aquarium itself. Staff on entry weren't very chatty or enthusiastic, however the staff inside the aquarium, especially the staff member at the area where you can touch certain things was incredible. The aquarium has calming music played throughout and lots to see, it takes at least an hour to walk through and see everything, we went in at 12:15 on a weekday and it wasn't too busy, we were also lucky enough to see the penguins being fed. I'll definitely look forward to my next visit here.
It a was a fun few hours seeing all the animals and learning some fun facts. I went on a weekend and there was no queue at the time we had booked in advance so this may have made it easier if there was a queue. There were a lot of animals and fish to see and we even got to watch the penguins get fed which was cute. The staff were nice. I would probably recommend maybe going on a weekday if you aren’t going with children I went on the weekend and it was quite busy inside so maybe it’s quieter on a weekday.
Definitely good value for money. The whole family enjoyed the trip, including the little ones. Minor issue, the first elevator was not working, making it difficult to navigate so many steps as both families in our party had a pushchair each. Some people say it's on the grander scale than Birmingham, but in my opinion, both are equally good.
We visited during the week as a large group. It was a lot bigger than we expected. We spent about 3 hours here, having a good look at the fish. They look well cared for and have plenty of room. There were a couple of stalls on the way round offering face paints, glitter tattoos and braids. Unfortunately the little drink shop was closed. The site is very warm and humid. I imagine as there's no windows, lots of visitors and no doubt the tanks need to be kept at a certain temperature. We found the heat a bit uncomfortable at times so we'd recommend taking enough to drink. The vending machines were out of action as well. There were quite a few penny press machines dotted about that you could only pay by card with. They were a bit temperamental. The gift shop seemed reasonably priced, not over the top like some attraction gift shops. Overall it was a lovely day out, we even got to see a lot of baby seahorses. They also offer a photo on the way round that you can purchase when you exit. A great memory of the day
An impressive tour, it was wonderful. The aquarium is very well looked after, with a wide variety of species. It can take about an hour and a half to see the entire aquarium, and there weren't many people there. There was a giant turtle, the size I've never seen in my life, it was impressive. I highly recommend the visit.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
Surprisingly large considering it's location in London but a generally small, compact aquarium when compared to aquariums in other major cities around the world. There are lots of exhibits with a good variety of sea life. There are even some insects and penguins in there. Particularly enjoyed watching the ants as there is a tube linking their home with a room with plants across the room and you can see these ants carrying little leaves through these tubes back to their home. Some exhibits we struggled to see anything in that tank which meant keeping my 6yr olds attention sometimes hard to keep. There is also a large shark tank in the middle which you get to see all the time at different levels throughout so if the window is busy when you first see the sharks, don't worry, you'll pass it a few times at, frankly better spots to see the sharks. Overall, a respectable aquarium but at that cost, I'd save the money and visit an aquarium in another major city if you can.
Booked in advanced and booked time slot of 11am on a Friday. Got to venue and walked straight in, no queues, very good. Not a huge crowd of people inside at that time in the morning, so a good time to book. I haven't been here for quite a few years and hoped there might be some new exhibits, but I don't think there are. We got round in a little over 1hr and saw all tanks. Penguin tank should really be bigger for these little guys. Also the jelly fish tanks are interesting. Overall if you are interested in aquariums and aquatic habitats and want something to do for an hour or two then pay the London Aquarium a visit.
Great place for a cute date or with family have some great animals. At parts when it busier you can feel rushed along and might miss some fishes. I love the gift shop always has good stick and reasonably priced. Ticket price is a bit high. Had great access for prams and some children and toilets suited for little ones too. Both times I’ve been I’ve not seen the octopus so maybe his not there now but has sharks turtles amazing jellyfish and fishes. And penguins and this time we went the penguins seemed alot happier :
Fantastic experience, we thoroughly enjoyed it. The aquarium was bigger than expected with so many different fish species to admire. The big tank which his home to cow nose and eagle rays was our favourite. I can definitely recommend it also to families with older children. You need to book your time slot in advance. We went on a Monday morning and it turned out to not be very busy at all.
One of our best days out so far! Great place to visit for all ages. Plenty of places to sit and rest as there is a lot of walking once inside! Our favourite was the Sharks, to see them up close and see all their teeth was amazing! The penguins too, were a favourite, they were very funny to watch with all their antics underwater. A great day out.
