Good solid wide concrete walkway prone to be obstructed in places be washed up pebbles from beach. Separated from cyclist who have dedicated track on other side of sea wall. Wooden bench seated available along most of length. Modern beach huts well protected from the beach movement of pebbles. This area is prone to large shift on beach levels. Ice cream van and coffee huts to along the way. Plenty of free parking both ends and along the middle. Working toilets in Buckle Free Car Park. Ideal for casual walkers, dog walkers, wheelchairs and prams. Great views to Newhaven harbour entrance. Very exposed with high winds and tides.
Nice day out and lunch at the beach kids loved it had little splash, not very busy and cosy place recommended for day out
Wonderful, open, wide scenic beach. There are few amenities on the beach/promenade its self in contrast to more touristy spots but the town is just behind.nPromenade is flat, easily accessible for those needing it from plentiful free onstreet parking and goes for miles.nBeach is pebbly but platforms have been put out allowing accessible entry to be on the beach.nToilets up by the martello tower and over the orad by the park and cafe at the zebra crossing midway down the beach.
Clean, peaceful, beautiful beach, nature at its best. Pebbles with occasional sand depending on law tide. No shower facilities, but toilets are available within reasonable distance. Plenty of ice cream and snacks sellers are also present.
Stayed at a lovely campsite in Lewes that enabled us to visit surrounding areas. We were advised by locals to visit here, and it did not disappoint. It is deffinatly an up and coming area, lot's of property renovations going on but nevertheless it was a nice place to visit with a great variety of shops. I'm glad I got to see it before corporate consumerism inevitably takes over however its most deffinatly worth a visit for anyone this summer xxxx
