We had the absolute best time playing on the Mersey Ferry with our band! The views were stunning, but honestly, nothing beats a boat full of people dancing to your tunes while the ship sways extra challenge for the drummer!. Great vibes, great people, and thankfully no Titanic moments. 10/10 would boat it up again!
Great experience.... Simply.... Ferry cross the Mersey, should be on everyone's bucket list
We had an absolutely wonderful day out! We departed from the Seacombe Ferry Terminal on a Manchester Ship Canal trip with Mersey Ferries We arrived quite early, so there was a bit of a wait to get on, but there are a few benches and chairs to perch on in the ticket office/departures area Link bridge was quite steep when we got on because the tide was out, so downhill to the ferry. Access to the ferry is step free, but the gradient of the link bridge depends upon the tide and how high the vessel is in the water. It was still quite steep on our return, but I was taken up by a buggy laid on by the Mersey Ferries. There is a fair bit of Pay and Display parking at the front of the Seacombe Ferry Terminal, where we joined the trip. £10.50 for the day, free for Blue Badge holders. The nearest parking bays are about 50 yards from the terminal entrance. The terminal was refurbished a couple of years ago, is well laid out and clean, with nice toilets, including disabled, some seating and a huge café. We had a wonderful day out, the Mersey Ferries and all their staff are thoughtful and friendly. Very highly recommended, we will certainly be going again.
Very Good. Easy parking, very easy access and for disabled, elderly, prams, etc, Very good availability of public transport!! Spectacular views of Liverpool across the Mersey and of the "Graces"!!! Great riverside embankment walk from here for walkers of course, but also, cycles, families, disabled, etc, right up the river around the top of the Wirral peninsula, from Seacombe and on to West Kirby!!! Highly Recommended!!
Great view point of Liverpool Dock from this side of Wirral. It also is part of the Brighton Millenium Trail which is great for cyclist and walkers , and other wheel users. Whatever the weather, in high tide or low tide it is refreshing and invigorating apart from enjoying the view.
The terminal has a straightforward layout & is pleasantly air-conditioned. There is no departure board and no means of knowing if your crossing is late. There are unfortunately only 2 sockets for the public to charge phones & laptops. The waiting cabin on the landing stage is out of order. The terminal has no means to read public transport smartcards, so Saveaway users are directed to the ticket office to get a receipt with a QR code printed on it; this can be stressful if you don't have much time, but staff make this procedure straightforward.
I recently contacted the Mersey ferry website online, regarding the scattering of ashes in the river Mersey. There is a link that can be accessed with regards to this process using google search. It was a simple process contacting the relevant department online and booking. Upon arrival at the seacombe ferry terminal you show the booking you have made on your telephone and make payment. You get a reduction for concessions and also if you have a mersey travel pass. The gentleman who opened the gates at boarding gates radiod ahead to let the crew know of our arrival. They couldn't have been nicer or more helpful as they told us about the process and when it was time to take our place, they led us to the back of the ferry . Told us no rush and to take our time we scattered the ashes , threw in some wrapping free flowers and said a few words. The whole experience was amazing and we can't praise the ferry staff enough . What wonderful people they are, thank you x
I'd say it's becoming the most unreliable way to commute to Liverpool. But, when the ferry actually runs, it's the best.
Great place to catch the ferry to Liverpool or marvel at the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Jetty for boarding the ferries across the Mersey. Ticket office and information a available here. Alight here for Spaceport and the walk up to New Brighton along the promenade.
