Wow, what an amazing museum, there's so much to see with lots of interactive bits which is great for kids.nThe museum is divided into 3 sections, 2 upstairs and one down. One of these is the bit about the Titanic. I was impressed how good this was, in my opinion almost better than the Belfast one. Lot's to see and not too much information to be overwhelming.nnYou can spend a good part of the day here and there's an activity trail for kids.nThe cafe is great and serves delicious sandwiches and pannis which are freshly made. The hot chocolate is also delicious and the staff are so friendly.
If you are interested in the Titanic definately worth a visit. My daughter age 13 is facinated with the story and museum does a great job of explaining from the perspective of people of southampton as well as general story. Took about and hour and 15 to go around for us. Nice gift shop, which has some reasonably priced items.
Good museum. I'd say a bit expensive for what it promises but fantastic visit for a morning. Not much Titanic memorabilia most of it it's from the Olympic but it tells the human side of the tragedy like nowhere else, especially in the investigations section. Lots of interactive parts too bad day as it was first Saturday in mid term break so full of children. Part with history of the city is very interesting too, sadly not a huge collection hopefully bigger in the future? I definitely recommend visiting it, but I'd have hoped for a bit more, otherwise 5 stars. Also, souvenir shop is ridiculously priced...nearly £5 for a magnet?...
Great little museum, spent a few hours wandering around and looks to see. Intersting to see more about the Titanic. I would recommend.
Did two of the art workshops here during October halfterm. They were so well run and reasonable, our kids and us had a great time. The museum is laid out really well with lots of interesting and interactive exhibits. The cafe was fab, offered a range of food, including gluten free. Overall, we had a fantastic day here- definitely recommend it and will go back ourselves.
