Excellent fish bar with unusually not too greasy F&C. Ordered medium portions that turned out huge. No small portions available but medium could easily be shared by children. Chatty staff. Clean and tidy. Also sell kebabs etc. Parking outside and in nearby free carpark.

So I came Into this fish shop earlier today, I went in at approx 3.05pm Asked for fish and chips mushy peas and a bread roll. Basically there was 2 other people that came in at the same time, one ordered wedges and one ordered just chips, The cod that I ordered was sitting in the hot plate so that was ready, mushy peas take approx 1 minute and a bread roll maybe 30 seconds? The only reason I chose cod was because it was already done and I was in a rush, so me thinking the most time it would take would be 5 mins approx. The guy then served everyone food apart from mine, about 5 minutes later he said the chips are just cooking, but he had already served a guy a portion of chips and all my meal was ready apart from the chips, so I waited patiently and after about another 5 minutes the guy says the chips will be ready in 2 minutes, patiently I kept waiting and finally at 3.38 pm I finally had the chips but then the roll or mushy peas weren't done, so finally I got all my food at 4.00pm. I don't normally ever complain about a fish shop as it's meant to be fast food but this defiantly wasn't fast at all, the staff didn't smile, only one had a hat on, and they all looked miserable, to top it off there was flys everywhere. When I went to pay a guy said sorry about the wait, please don't complain, so obviously they know that something's not right here, the wait wasn't even worth it, the fish was dried up and hard, the mushy peas were cold and there was no butter on the roll, this is disgraceful for a nice known fish shop with a good rating, maybe I just got a bad time but this experience was awful, again I'm sorry to complain but I really wasn't happy with how I was treated.

Best fish and chips in town. Get them here and you will not go hungry. Huge portions, well cooked and served with a smile.
