We have been with Scrutton Bland SB near to 3 years. We cannot praise Nick Banks and his team enough. Not only do they provide the legal side of accounting, Nicks industry knowledge and contacts has led to huge growth in understanding and managing large challenges we have faced. The move to Xero accountancy software has improved our in-house record keeping efficiency as well as many useful tools we use to work with SB to make informed decisions. The move to Xero was straightforward with great support form SB. We wouldn’t go back now.

I cannot recommend Scrutton Bland highly enough. On a personal level they resolved my incredibly complex tax problem with ease and calmness. For my business, they helped me automate my accounts and I now run like clockwork. Best of all, I feel incredibly well backed and supported. Avoid these accountants! Extremely bad experience with Jason Fayers and Emma Clifton in Ipswich branch. I was paying them £150 a month more than 3 times what my previous accountants charged which included support for the Xero Software which they use. I asked if I could call into the office in October to ask Emma a few questions regarding the software, She said that would be fine…with no mention of a charge. I had also mentioned I was interested in maybe purchasing a property in Spain at some point and she said she had a financial advisor who could give me a call for a chat…again no mention of a charge. I received a phone call from him and chatted briefly. Again there was no mention of any charge. I was then sent a bill for £570 for extra training and advice! At no point was I told there was a charge for this support in October or for the chat with the financial advisor. I was also told there was a mistake on my previous tax return and I would need to pay them another £360 to fix it within 2 days time or it would be too late. I rang HMRC and was told this was incorrect and I could simply write them a letter for free. Finally, even though they had agreed to complete my accounts which ended in May 2018 by the end of January 2019. I had still not received my accounts and then, with no notice, they terminated our agreement, leaving me having to pay another accountant to do the work they were supposed to have done. Extremely unprofessional service!
