Here’s the thing. And before I start, I should have read some of the other reviews, as this appears a common thread. And it would help matters if management read this along with the others, and tried to resolve appropriately. So……. Excellent food, very good and attentive service, all within the wonderful ambiance that Scott’s exudes. But here’s the thing, we were politely taken to our seats, proffered menus, and asked what we would like to drink. We ordered, drinks arrived, and were then asked what we would like to eat. We ordered, food arrived in a timely manner and we started. It was then that I noticed the other table were given along with the main menus, a daily specials menu. What was on it, we’ll never know. We didn’t ask, just, just in case it contained something we really really wanted. So that’s the thing. That’s why it doesn’t command five stars. But this little blip, would not stop us coming back. Scott’s- nice one!!!
My Fiance won a gift voucher for Scotts restaurant and we headed down on a Thursday night at 6pm. We ordered from the 2 courses for £15.50 menu as it had a good selection of starters and mains. The food was really tasty and the drinks where nice. Decor in Scotts is pleasant and the staff are friendly. We will return to Scotts in the future as we enjoyed our time.
Good selection of food but would have liked some more "healthier options" but i ate round the unhealthy sauces and enjoyed the food in hindsight I should have asked for no sauces gravy etc , my fault oops . it's a nice clean restaurant with lovely staff , service good
Called this morning 1st July for a breakfast. First class service by - Nicola Burns, my food allergies were taken seriously, I'm allergic to dairy and egg, everything was checked out thoroughly for me and I had a beautiful breakfast. My husband had the eggs benadict with smoked ham and Swiss cheese, he said it was delicious. We will definately return and hope to meet Nicola again, she's a star. Thank you to the chef as well, these were 2 beautifully presented breakfasts, cooked to perfection
Lovely meal, friendly helpful staff, nice surroundings. The place to go in and around Largs if you're looking for something a wee bit 'fancier', good range on the menu, fresh produce nicely prepared and presented, my only reservation; being given a soup spoon to eat dessert with..
Sadly, this restaurant was booked for my birthday last Sunday evening. My daughter-in-law kindly brought along the birthday cake she'd baked for me and it was the best dish we all ate at Scott's that evening! They gave us teaspoons instead of cake forks but we managed!! The service was poor, we were all parched on arrival and waited 15 minutes for water, then a further 10 minutes for our drinks order to arrive. Two prawn cocktail starters arrived without dressing which I had to request and the dressing was then finally delivered to our table. Who can get a Sunday roast dinner wrong? Well the answer is clearly Scotts, the roast beef was really tough to cut then chew and the roast chicken was equally bad. I definitely won't be dining here again. The only plus points was the decor and the restaurant itself has a nice ambience. Either the managers have to employ better chefs or stop buying cheap ingredients. So disappointing. Training the waiters would also be an improvement. One star awarded for the atmosphere.
Scott’s has undergone a major renovation and it’s earned back it’s 5 stars Absolutely loved the ambiance, cocktail / drinks menu and food menu. The only issue was that I couldn’t choose what to eat because everything sounded so good. So nice to have a top dining experience in Largs!
Called in for birthday dinner. I could bore you to death with all the nice things about the place. Food excellent service excellent atmosphere excellent. In other words if you want a nice meal in lovely surroundings, look no further. Oor Welly Food: 5/5
Had a few whiskies to toast in remembrance of Queen Elizabeth II God save the King
Beautiful. We have all eaten something different and every dish has been spot on. Starters, mains and desserts we could find fault with anything. The restaurant is set in beautiful surroundings in the marina. The staff are all really attentive, friendly and accommodating. We all plan to visit again, would definitely recommend.
