I love the cafe here. The art gallery is impressive. I've been round it a few times. It's impressive. All around the premises there are sculptures at the entrances. I think it's somewhere to walk to. The parking is no longer free, however it's very fairly priced and it lasts all day. I probably go here every couple of months to meet with friends for coffee and a cake. They have a lunch menu with some choices. I personally don't really think it's a lunch place, I think the menu is limited. Although they do homemade soup everyday. It's wheelchair accessible to the front door. Although I'm not certain how a wheelchair would get through the front door as its narrow. There's possibly another door I've not noticed as I don't require it. I'd imagine so as there's a slope to the entrance. I'd recommend having a look around the grounds too as there's a lot of interpretation art dotted around.

Whether of not you enjoy visiting the Gallery rather depends on your view of modern art. There are two buildings making up the Gallery both in Georgian style. They are separated by a road, with a pedestrian crossing for easy movement between them. Both have large garden areas around them creating a general feeling of space and quiet which can be very refreshing. Both buildings have a cafe and gift shops. Exhibits change regularly and there often special exhibitions. Entry is free but special exhibitions may have entry charges. Gallery web site has details

Eclectic space in wonderful grounds. Inspiring. Great gift shop. Cafe serves amazing food - just a little noisy when full (which in my experience is always!)

Second time I have been in a year (I live in London!) Great grounds with fine modern sculpture. Two grand buildings, good permanent collection and this was the second of two brilliant temporary exhibitions. Staff friendly and helpful.

An absolute stunning collection of artworks, of a world class standard it is wonderfully free to the public just to go in and have a wander around look at the artworks. All set in a building, designed by sir William playfair, a real feast for the visual senses. Staff are very friendly and approachable. The cafe has excellent for the end of your visit.
