Enjoyable few hours memorising & enjoying time on some of the rides. Pleasant receptionist & other members of staff. Certain days of the week you can dance in their ballroom, also a carvery available on a Sunday at least. Snacks available other days of the week. Too much to mention so please view my 'photos. Would recommend for all ages & not an expensive day out. £1.00 pp for rides, not sure of costs for children.
A great place to visit for both young and old. Started off with a very yummy tea and cake and watched the organ and dancing highly recommend, it's a great time. Then had lots of fun looking around the museum and going on rides only £1 a turn!. I also like that you can get old pennies to go on the arcade machines with ask at the front desk when you go in, you get 10 for £1. The staff are what really made this place stand out however, they couldn't have been more welcoming and lovely!
Great place to visit as everything is under cover. The vintage rides run 1 after the other with a break for lunch around 1pm. Great collection of cars, trucks and buses. As well as a Penny Arcade. Coins can be purchased at the reception. Rides include Dodgems, Carousel, Waltzer and Ghost Train. All being £1.00. Only down side was the coffee was lousy
We loved this museum. Its got loads of old vehicles and old wooden fairground rides to see. The rides open up during the day and you can go on them: an old carousel, a ghost train, dodgems, cake walk....and they're really good fun. It's pretty cheap to enter, we paid £27 for a family of 5. The old rides were an extra £1 each per car on the dodgems and ghost train so not much at all. There are old wurlitzers playing music and a hall of mirrors too. There's a large dance hall with live music being played and a bar and cafe too. The teas, cakes, coffees and soft drinks were all reasonably priced. The kids loved it here, the big kids loved it more!
A little gem I hadn't heard of but saw on Jane McDonald tv show. It is certainly well worth a visit. Fair ground rides for me the carousel was the highlight loved it. Hearing the beautiful organs AMAZING the OCTOBERFEST was just beautiful. Old cars tractors steam engines Staff friendly and knowledgeable cafe was good value and toilets very clean. Highly recommend we were there 4 hours and loved it. You can't go on the cars or tractors but certainly interesting to see. This is a MUSEUM first and foremost with some rides you can go on. Carousel, ghost train, cakewalk, thriller and dodgems all things to go on and more a children's carousel for younger ones. Just loved our visit and will be back again. Only open Wednesday to Saturday April to October. Be worth a visit and in my opinion not over priced.
Very nice place to visit has vintage fair ground ride's which are still working every day that it's open for a small cost you can ride each one. Old vehicles starting with steam engines to a nice silver Cadillac. Another part of the collection is the music organ's mobile one's which are mounted in the back of trucks and other organs are around a dance floor against the walls with the big music organ all plumbed in and working the others may all be ready to use as well I never asked. Myself and the family were treated along with others to a beautiful song played on the main organ by possibly the owner whilst we sat and ate our sandwiches purchased in the dance hall area café made a very nice visit brilliant. I would say if you are staying in the Yorkshire area and like old transport and fair equipment this is a must to see and experience. Not sure if you can buy tickets in advance it's also located in a holiday park off to the left as you drive in.
Nice little place passed on a couple of hours. Went with a two year old and a ten year old. The elder child loved the cake walk and went on the ghost Train. Fair bit of nostalgia here and we got it at a discounted rate staying on the holiday park next to it. The lady on reception was very helpful and pleasant.
Love love loved it. Pure nostalgia you can even ride on the vintage fun fair rides A fantastic place to visit. Not just fairground rides there are fantastic organs, vintage cars buses lorries fire engines and lots of associated items from the past. If you are in Scarborough you must visit.
I went with an elderly relation, my initial feeling was one of disappointment. We had plannednon having lunch there, but they had run out of sandwiches by 13.00, yes, lunchtime. It atmosphere did improve once the man started playing the organ as before that it was like having a cup of tea in a railway station. The gentleman that I was with did enjoy his walk around. The exhibits are well displayed and the information about them is clear. There are many organs which would have been great to hear, at least some of them if not all. The rides operate on a rota starting on the hour, at an additional cost. A shelter outside would be useful as there isn't a smoking shelter or shelter of any kind. My relation did enjoy the visit, although we only stayed 2 hours. I'm not sure if or when I woyld be back.
Had a fantastic, Brilliant fun day here would goh ere again and to go on old rides not seen since I was kid. Was even better. And the classic cars and tractors and motorbikes and a WW1 troop carrier was really really good.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
