We didn't stay over night but used the pub as our base to e plore the local beautiful area. A man operated ferry took us across the river then we were able to follow a beautiful walk along the river through beautiful woodland to the footbridge so we could walk back to the pub for a much needed drink. The food looked gorgeous and there were plenty of people eating. We enjoyed a drink outside looking across the water. Stunning, highly recommended.
Excellent pub. A huge selection of beer, lagers and ciders. Lovely food that's reasonably priced. Accomodating for dogs - gave us water for the dog bowl. Beautiful views of the river. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating areas. We've never stayed there but have visited on many occasions.
Fabulous food, fair prices. Not massive inside and popular location so tables hard to come by. Lovely rooms and breakfast. The staff were really friendly and helpful.Rooms: 4/5
Most beautiful place and staff are great. Can't do enough. The food is really good and lovely atmosphere in the bar and dining area. Rooms are really well done out and bathrooms gorgeous.Rooms: 5/5
We attempted to book a table online using google at 18:38 on the 30/12/22 for 10 people at 12 noon the following day. Obviously this is a long shot on a popular day but nevertheless we heard nothing back until they cancelled us at 11:14, just 46 minutes before we were due to arrive. Have used this pub many times and had great meals but the admin, in my opinion, should be better.
Although we only stopped for a few pints, this was such a great place. Other people's food looked lovely. Very friendly and helpful staff. I would recommend it to everyone.Service: 5/5
Had a very pleasant stay at this hotel over two nights. The room was impeccable, very clean, comfortable and warm. Lovely clean bathroom and tea/coffee facilities. Ws had a slight technical problem with the TV, but only due to reception/signal, but this wasn't an issue as we weren't there to watch TV, it's just handy for background sound. The reason I mention this is because two of the staff members, unsure of their names, very kindly assisted and were polite, friendly and helpful. This was much appreciated. Many thanks to the lovely young waitress Jayda who served us for both breakfasts, very polite, helpful and pleasant in her manner. This seriously goes a long way with customer service. Also thanks to Indiana and Fanny for their lovely service and welcoming manner and overall thanks and compliments to other members of staff who offered help. The gentleman who served us at the main till area with our checking out bill was very helpful and friendly. A very pleasant stay, food was delicious and compliments to the chef regarding the poached eggs, they were wonderfully cooked. Thank you.
Nice atmosphere and good selection of drinks available. They even had dairy free milk and some gluten free snacks for my mum who has intolerances.
Not quite the ambiance I'd expected from an ancient pub in such a lovely spot, few vegetarian options. Good spot for a simple meal in Summer, in Winter not so much.Service: 3/5
Nice pub, they had a nice fire going, we stopped for a welcome lunch break during our walk. My husband got a nice burger, but he was envious of my delicious meatballs.
