Experience with the triage nurse was good. However, the unnecessary waiting around was ridiculous. We had a trainer nurse come to tell us to go into 'Same Day' this is where alot of time was wasted.nnWe waited nearly 2hrs for a blood test, another 2.5 for an xray. And wait a further 3hrs to be told not going home becuase my husband has pneumonia and he waited another 2hrs because he received his 1st antibiotic injection.nnHe wasn't shown or spoken to about his x-ray results, the doctor who seen him was going home and then at that point informed my Husband he was being transferred to city hospital!!! I mean what she they playing at. Then the ambulance transfer tried to blame my his and for not being around sooner, when he hadn't even moved from Same day Care!!!nnAll in all the doctors and nurses in Same day are lazy they are not proactive, very much so have a superior attitude and you wwit for them and stood around laughing and joking while people like my husband need urgent care.nnMy husband finaly got to city hospital at midnight having arrived at sandwell at 11am, to receive his bed and told sandwell should have given him an oral antibiotic before he left. They should have also done a CT Scan as they had plenty of time. But not sandwell left it all down to City Hospital.nnWhat a waste of 12hrs.nnThe Same day care team should be ashamed of themselves!!!!
Last night I called the ambulance because I have very, very bad headaches from migraines and the ambulance told me if I could get to the hospital in the Emergency it would be much better because the time for the ambulance to wait is very long ok I went to the emergency I told my problem that it was around 1am and they told me to wait in the room, I waited for two and a half hours, then they called me, I went there, there was an assistant who asked me what symptoms I had, what I suffered from what are treatment I took Etc., Then they made me wait again for an hour and a half after which they called me to take my blood for analysis after another hour and a half I took my blood again and they told me that it is likely that I will I also had a head scan, ok, I called a resident doctor, I think after about half an hour, he came in and he still asked me what symptoms I had, what I suffered and what treatment I took, I explained that I took it and sent me a message that it was prescribed to me and that I didn't continue to take them because they made me very sleepy and I couldn't wake up the next day, having a small child at home I had to take care of him and make him milk and feed him, I couldn't dealing with that pill just made me want to sleep all the time, After which the doctor, when he heard about amitriptyline, started telling me that it's okay to keep taking it, I explained to him that I can't continue to take it because he didn't understand that it makes me drowsy and it makes me sleep continuously with housework and having the children I had to take care of them he just started laughing that is something that I thought was very disrespectful to the patient considering that we have been waiting since 1:00 in the night and more there were patients who came much earlier and they didn't even pay attention to them, I mean I can't understand this system of theirs, they stay with the doors closed, they sit at the counters, they tell what they did, what they ate, and I don't know what the patients actually have to do on the chairs and slept lying down as the poor could, I mean this seems disgraceful to me, brother, that's why there are so many diseases and that's why so many people die because they don't pay attention to any pain they give paracetamol, I did blood tests and then a scan around 6:30 am, after two hours the resident doctor called me and told me that my results are good and that I can go home, I have a hellish headache, I asked him what treatment he would give me or should I take something for the pain because I couldn't anymore, himnsaid cocodamol which has no effect. he said to contact the GP for another treatment, then he started to laugh again saying I'm sorry you're going home angry onnme! really!?! so go home and die free! very very disappointed. I waited from 1 am to 8:45 am to hear that my tests are good and that I can go home, no treatment, plus a doctor who laughed about my situation!!!
You won’t ever catch me clapping for any of them at 7pm again.nnThey don’t care about you and indirectly assign a doctor/nurse with the same skin colour as you and treat you worse than animals.nnWe waited for over 8 hours in A&E, 2.5 to be triaged then 3 more for tests, 2 hours for results then 45 minutes for the doctor to prescribe medication. Best advice keep chasing Nurse/Doctor otherwise they will just forget about younnI saw some very sick patients including; an old woman in her 80s who finally got a hospital bed after waiting 26 hours in A&E. A 85 year old man with dementia who had pooped himself and was left for 25 minutes in the toilet by the nurse. It was only when other patients started asking the nurse if he was ok that she giggled and said she had left him in the toilet strange sense of humour as this wasn’t funny at allnnAfter 5pm more people arrived and there was very limited seating so some sat directly on the floor in pain whilst 85% of the nurses/doctors went home or changed shift.nnSomething clearly isn’t right here and an Independent Enquiry needs to be conducted.nnRussell’s Hall and New Cross are your better options if you want to be treated like a human.
I would like to express my huge gratefulness to D-r Rashid for his professionalism.nHowever, the NHS cannot tackle the issue with the flow of patients. Once a patient arrives at the reception, they have to wait for quite a lot of time until seen by a doctor. So, the five-star review is just for the doctor.
We came to the hospital at 10pm as my daughter had a 40 degrees temp, fainted , was dizzy and has had migraines for months we called 999 and they referred us to the hospital. So we went and when we talked to the first woman to speak to us who checked her temp. and blood pressure she was rude and asked why we even came to the hospital, even though 999 told us to. She said the doctor was only going to care about the dizziness not the headache and we waited anyways. We waited 6 hours to be told there's nothing they can do, but the doctor was nice and did in fact care about the headaches too and he referred us back to the GP as we had already went GP but they hadn't done anything so the hospital was a last resort when it got really bad and they sorted it at the GP , but overall it wasn't a bad visit just that rude woman and a long wait.
