Easy to use, small station, alright connection to local buses, brilliant staff, great accessibility and an extensive free carpark.nn*taxi bays are located by the front entrance.n*after 23:15 the main station closes, so users have to the use the side entrance.n*there are two ‘TVMs’ ticket vending machines however when the main station is closed outside 05:40-23:15 there are no ticket printing facilities available.n*ticket office located in main area, with variable operating hours.nn—————————————————————nSERVICES May 2025 timetablen[tph = train per hour, 1/2 = a train every 2 hours]nnPLATFORM 1n1tph to London Euston Avantin*additional services in the ‘peak’ morning.n1tph to Birmingham International TfWn2tph to Walsall via Birmingham WMRnnPLATFORM 2n2tph to Wolverhampton [stopper] WMRnnAvantin1/2tph to Edinburghn1/2tph to Glasgow Centraln*late evening services terminate at Crewe, then Wolverhampton.n*weekends see Avanti terminate most services at Preston, rather then in Scotland.nnTfWn1tph to Shrewsburyn*trains continue further and alternate between Aberystwyth & Pwllheli must be in the correct portion of the train, Holyhead and a late night service continues to Manchester Piccadilly via Chester.n——————————————————————nUsual scheduled stopping patterns, per hour, in the week:nPLATFORM 1n03 WMRn23 TfWn33 WMRn56 AWCnPLATFORM 2n17 AWCn23 WMRn30 TfWn53 WMRn*timings could be altered on weekends and especially during engineering events.n——————————————————————nnTrains do come in at an angle making the gap larger than usual. Ramp assistance should be booked before hand with the relevant train operator, however by asking platform staff on the day they’re usually happy to put it down for users who require it.nnDefinitely one of the best connected stations in the whole of the Black Country.
no staff in station, the ticket information desk the blinds was shut, needed access to disabled toilets and there was no one around to ask, severely lacking in accessibility. There should be staff available at the ticket desk at all times.
Fairly rubbish station, ticket office closed on a Saturday afternoon. Two ticket machines with queues. Not very intuitive to use and very unsuitable for wheelchair users, limited ability to stand or vision impairment. Lift from concourse to platform 1 towards Birmingham/London not operatingnOn the plus side there is quite a lot of free parking.
Tried to buy a season ticket via the app it was saying I needed a swift card I wasn't sure if it be all ready linked to the app or if it was a different app I had yo download. Anyway I went to Sandwell and Dudley Train Station this morning Haydon and another female member of staff Wass so help full they sorted my ticket out and told me about other offers ware they only have to pay a £1 if they are traveling with me. I was about to leave as I dint have any photos on me to put on my ticket but Haydon took my photo and sorted it. I just was to say thank you for all the help today alot better then the ticket machine or any apps thanks again.
Small station. Big platform... And a small shop. And lift access to both platforms.
