Sandbar has been updated inside and there is a nice seating/dining area outsideoverlooking the beach. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The prices are reasonable. The food is tasty and freshly made to order. The classic pizza was a hit as where the ribs and mac-n-cheese. We will definitely be back.
Mixed one! Good food and plenty of staff who were friendly and helpful. The view to the beach and sea, decoration and general ambiance of the bar/restaurant and balcony are fantastic. Big windows and lots of space to move. Very good value with a clear and simple Menu. Good Job Guys!! However, missing a few stars in a few areas. Firstly, the toilets are really poor and need some money spending on them and a checking/cleaning schedule implemented, the tables were not cleared and cleaned very fast, for the entire visit we sat next to a table that needed a good floor clean see photo. A spray bottle and cloth had been left on it so it was on their radar, it was not very busy so I was not sure why? Lastly, the music repeated every few songs seemed to love The kaiser chiefs a little too much so didn’t really have the vibe you would expect from a beach bar/restaurant over looking the sea! I will return next year to see how the place has improved and hope to give it 5 stars. Well worth a visit if you are in the area!!!
Nice location. Good food, drink and service. Cod was nicely cooked with good beer batter. Mussells were in a very competent white sauce. Fries were dusted with old bay spice which was delightful..they were double fried to perfection. For a seaside "cafe" expectation they very much exceeded that preconceived view. Worth a visit. Book ahead at busy times.
Had a great experience, staff very friendly and helpful. Great views of the beach and out to sea. We had the mussels and the ribs, delicious It does help when it's hot and you can sit outside.
Great views of the beach below. The service was decent and the staff were friendly enough. The food was nothing special but this should not be a surprise for a spot that close to the beach / tourist area. The restaurant could use a deep clean and a refurb as well. The toilets are absolutely disgusting. Not very small child friendly, with buckets under the urinals, no paper towels and a broken tap. The staff should be paying more attention to the cleanliness of the welfare facilities aka toilets
A “mixed” experience. No welcome on arrival as staff appeared too busy pouring drinks to engage. We’d booked a table party of 7 but after waiting a while we were eventually told we could sit anywhere. No menus, but a board that we could photograph and pass the photo around. I think it may have been a reduced menu. When we’d sorted out drinks we had to send two cokes back as clearly there was something wrong with the dispenser/mixer. Food service was quicker than I expected and the quality of what we had was good. Prices were reasonable, compared to some places in Cornwall. I didn’t use the toilets, but the females in our party said theirs was “in a bit of a state”, which they reported. In summary - great location, good food at reasonable prices, but not great facilities and at least one of the staff we met appeared not to want to be there. It would not be untrue to say that the lack of engagement on our arrival had a direct impact on how much some of our party wanted to spend in the venue.
Great Sunday lunchtime atmosphere with a four piece band playing. Relaxed, spacious & wonderful views of incoming tide. Sunday lunch looked lovely but we had soup, mac n cheese & another dish. Food not really hot which was a shame as the chowder was delicious.Food: 3/5
What a fabulous spot! Delicious food, amazing location, great local wine, lovely atmosphere.
New year's Eve dinner, ordered 4 fish&chips with peas, the cod was superb, melted like butter, as it was freshly prepped and fried. The wiew from the restaurant is very nice overlooking the beach. we will be back definitely for the coming summer.Food: 5/5
New owners today but visited as close and my birthday. Ordered fish and chips, fantastic...Food: 5/5
