We moved with R Samson & Sons recently,Excellent service from start to finish,the estimator that came round was experienced & got it spot on,with bad access issues & lots of date changes the ladies in the office could not be faulted very polite & organised. On moving day their team turned up on time ,freindly with a sense of humour which allways helps!. Moved all of my furniture down some tricky stairs without any damage to walls or my goods,it was all packed nice & safe on the truck delivered in the correct rooms in my new house exactly as i asked them to do & all finished in time,even with us waiting for the keys for an hour. I could not fault them from start to finish,great staff great team in the office, Thank you very much. Calum & his mum.

Our negative feedback on Checkatrade: “The move itself seemed to go well. We moved into a property where a full refurbishment was being carried out, so had to store everything in two un used rooms. We moved in a few weeks after the move and started unpacking and found a crack in the screen. The tv was not in any bubble wrap or packaging of any description. The cardboard boxes had also been written on many times and had multiple rooms on them making it impossible for us to know what was inside.” Verified by Staff– Customer in Bournemouth ( 1 ) 8 August 2017 1.50 0-3- Response from R. Samson & Sons Ltd: This move was not the easiest as we had to deliver to a building site with general builders working on the property at the time. We were asked to place 2 large truck loads of furniture into 2 rooms downstairs, another room was used for the overflow upstairs, so odd boxes would have not been in the correct rooms. All boxes were correctly labelled. It’s taken nearly 1 month for this customer to contact us. I explained our insurance is valid for 7 days after the move, any workmen working on or around the goods would make the insurance claim difficult. The customer had a copy of our terms & conditions & summary of Insurance. If they failed to read them then I cannot be held responsible. We can’t be held liable for dust on the goods as we were not asked to wrap any of the goods in bubble card board or export as this would have been an added extra cost. Had we been asked to do so we would have carried this out. It’s a shame that they did not get the reply from us that they wanted & had to resort to a negative feedback on a family firm that carries out high standards of work. Their response was completely inaccurate. Point by point... 1) "2 large truck loads of furniture into 2 rooms downstairs" - INCORRECT - they were asked to place all downstairs items in a downstairs room, and all upstairs items in an upstairs room. This simple task was beyond them. 2)"All boxes were correctly labelled" - INCORRECT - more than half of the boxes were labelled wrong. Many of them had multiple rooms written on them from previous jobs. E.g. My sons bedding was labelled kitchen. 3) " I explained our insurance is valid for 7 days after the move" - Only at the point we rang up, almost a 1 month later, after entering the storage room to discover our flatscreen TV had been cracked. NEVER were we advised of anything to do with insurance beforehand. 4)"The customer had a copy of our terms & conditions & summary of Insurance." These were never seen or given to us. When we raised the complaint, Ian adamantly told us that he had a signed copy. However, when challenged, he checked and admitted he didn't have any. To date, we still don't have a copy. 5) "we were not asked to wrap any of the goods in bubble card board or export as this would have been an added extra cost." - We were never informed of any options regarding wrapping. We were just assured all our belongings would be 'securely' wrapped. All they did was throw a blanket over TV's and paintings whilst in transit. Ironically, all of our plates were wrapped and left securely in boxes, however the valuable items such as TV's were not. When raising this complaint, my wife found the owner to be rude and totally indignant. He even suggested that "it was the our fault for moving into a property that was unfinished, and that we should have stayed put". I cannot express how much I feel let down by this company, and would NEVER recommend that anyone use them.
