I submitted my complaint to the salon by leaving a message on their voicemail on several occasions and also by sending a written complaint. Neither were followed up by the salon and I received no comeback as to what is a serious complaint so would like to share my experience online. The stylist at the salon was very friendly and put me at ease. She seemed uneasy at dealing with my hair which had a slight red tint to it. No other salon where I had been quoted had stated this was a problem and I had had no problems with the colour when dying it myself at home. the stylist decided to bleach my hair and then dye it brown (even though I had asked for highlights and not a single colour). After it was bleached, my hair was a horrific mix of yellow, orange and brown. During the dying process, dye was splashed on the sleeve of my top and this has had to be thrown away. When washing my hair, the water wasn't checked and I have never felt anything so hot in my life. My scalp was scalded and for over a week brushing my hair and even touching my head was extremely uncomfortable. I was asked to take a picture to the salon for reference for the cut. I showed her the picure which included nice face framing layers. What I actually got was a very short blunt bob cut. I had specified that I did not want a straight cut all the way round and had explained that I had spent the last three years growing out a bob cut. I am not back to square 1. When I got home, I saw the poor dying job. The colour was all over my skin, patchy and whole sections underneath and around my ears had been missed completly. I had saved up to go to the salon to get a professional cut and dye job as I was starting new employment. I was so disappointed and upset. As I couldn't go to work in the state she had left me, I bleached my hair again, dyed it brown and highlighted it using a kit from boots and got the result I was looking for! She even had the cheek to charge me £60 for the experience!
