Sambucca is a lovely little Iatalian resteraunt tucked away down a side street of the busy market town of Morley, which is a few miles from Leeds City centre. At first it seems rather small and cozy inside, although there is double the seating upstairs. The service is really good and waiters were on point and didn't keep us waiting despite it being very busy. On the whole the food was very good, no complaints from my guest who enjoyed her starter of chicken liver pate and main of chicken. We both ordered from the early bird menu up to 7pm which was 2 courses for £17. My only slight complaint was the seafood risotto wasn't cooked to my liking, which is light and fluffy. It was quite heavy and stodgy. I would definitely visit again but perhaps choose something else on the menu. Vegetarian options: Plenty of Vegetarian options. Kid-friendliness: Welcomes children Parking: Lots of parking outside
Undoubtedly one of the best Italian restaurants around. I've lived local to Morley for years but have never visited Sambuca until yesterday. To start off the customer service is great, you're greeted with a friendly smile and shown to your table, throughout the staff are attentive and polite. As for the food, the ingredients are so fresh and nothing is overly salty which makes a really nice change for an Italian. I started with the creamed garlic mushrooms, I then had the special linguine and had a cheese topped garlic bread pizza on the side. Every part of the meal was just so tasty and fresh. Also the prices were so fair! To finish off you're not rushed out and can pay in your own time again sorted out by friendly, smiling staff. 10/10! I look forward to returning and thank you for such a lovely meal.
Anyone with Coeliac Disease - DO NOT EAT HERE! Having eaten at the Shipley branch of Sambuca many times with no concerns, as they will prepare any meals that are required to be gluten free to order with small adjustments such as the removal of wheat flour to sauces they use as a thickener So as usual when eating out I made sure to tell the staff that I required a gluten free meal. Always an awkward moment for someone with coeliac disease as all eyes are on you. As always I had the same starter and main because I’d had no problems before and never risk anything new or I’ve not tested due to the sensitivity of my coeliac I was assured that these dishes did not contain gluten so ordered away. The man taking the order was quite dismissive when I questioned how they thicken the sauce. Of course he knows best, I mean he works there and would obviously tell the kitchen?! Sadly this wasn’t the case as unfortunately the adverse side effects to consuming gluten for someone with Coeliac struck a couple of hours after leaving and lasted long into the night. Details not required! You’d think nowadays places would be more careful but evidently not. Whilst I’m aware they don’t advertise to be gluten free there is an expectation when you purposely tell them your dietary requirements that they at least attempt to meet your needs. I’ll be sticking to the Shipley branch from now on as at least they make the effort to avoid any issues and consider the seriousness of cross contamination and the ingredients they use to thicken sauces.
Great place and atmosphere .food and service excellent best meal we've had out in a long time !
Just had an excellent meal here. Service was good and food was fantastic. My husband had the sambuco steak which was enormous, I had Lamb chops which was too much for me. The chips and vegetables are extra.
Really good food, friendly staff and a lovely setting. Definitely recommended if you fancy a good evening out.
The tastiest Italian I have ever been too - never fails to impress. My go-to meal is their penne pasta topped with mozzarella and the mozzarella en carozza dish; a cheesy masterpiece. Service is fast and the staff are polite and friendly. Catchy Italian music is always playing which only adds to the impressive atmosphere. Highly recommend. Taste - 5/5 Presentation - 5/5
Can't fault the meal or the service. The atmosphere was made by my friends rather than the place itself. It used to have a great atmosphere in itself but it has changed management since then Wheelchair accessibility: There's a ramp up to the door
Great food, excellent staff and good value
First time there and will no be going back sorry £21 for just my meal and I got a plate of pepper corn sauce and a bit of steak in the middle not even cooked I no were in a living crisis but come on
