Lovely when eating in but this is the second time we have ordered take out from here and both times the poor packaging means it arrives no longer in a package. Instead it’s exploded all over the delivery drivers trunk box. For these quite punchy prices I think they need to sort out their delivery containers in the hope it contains the food better. Very disappointing and definitely the last time we try it. Tastes delicious when in the restaurant but that’s it. Learn from my mistakes and don’t order out!
We ordered the beef curry, special laksa and fried chicken. The fried chicken was really yummy and the sauce was great! The special laksa was very flavoursome, I love their shrimp taste. The beef curry was also very good, spice is great. The price is on the more expensive side but the quality is great.
I visited with three other mate. Two were laksa noodles, unfortunately they weren’t particularly impressed. I thought the flavour were great, personally I prefer more soupy laksa. Another thing for us was we feel the prices were rather high. We end up spending £50 each for what was meant to be a simple meal.
For years this restaurant has been my favourite one in London Not even in Kuala Lumpur I tried such a tasty laksa. Trust me this is the best one!! The broth is so creamy and flavourful , the vegetables are cooked in their perfect point, the chicken is always tender and it really tastes like chicken. Although it is a little bit expensive, it's totally worth it! We even had their book at home to try to replicate their laksa.
Independently run Malaysian Laksa specialist on Holloway Road, a stone's throw away from the Emirates Stadium. Went in on a match day booking in advance is highly recommended! and I was told they have an amazing signature laksa dish. I was apprehensive at first with the spice level, whilst I can handle it, but wasn't sure about the level of it. For me, it was spicy, but the nice kind where it doesn't escalate the more bites you take. The tofu was a great touch where it absorbed the broth and bursts with flavour in your mouth. A bit on the pricey side £20+ for a bowl of noodles, but worth a try for sure! Vegetarian options: Tofu
We chose here as it was highly regarded as authentic. I ordered the chicken curry and it was as bland as anything. Also £17.50 for one thigh. The beef rendang was also fairly bland with dry meat. We can all cook at home better than this. In contrast, the starters were good. The gado gado, potato puffs and fenugreek crackers all worth a mention. They also kept the door open the whole time to attract more customers. A particular bug bear of mine. Definitely wouldn't return.
An Independent self styled cuisine nestled close to Highbury Islington station has favourable reviews which fuelled my curiosity. Ambience is below par for the overall experience, very casual. The Malaysian fried chicken is a banger. The best I've had. Flavoursome, not oily with a peanut sauce which delighted the taste buds. The fenugreek crackers would beat any traditional pappadam eight days of the week! Brilliant! The Assam Laksa had a unique taste, bit fishy for me and for the price im circumspect and have my reservations. The curry Laksa is far better but I can't say this is worth the price. Overall the Laksa is underwhelming for what I'm paying. But, If you're a ramen person, this broth definitely is far more flavoursome. I can see why it's a hit during winters but summer times..... I'd order second helpings on the starters but for mains... would check my options on adjacent lanes.
Came here before an Arsenal match. 10 minutes walk from the stadium. Service was excellent and attentive. We ordered the Malaysian fried chicken, Gado Gado salad, classic prawn laksa with egg, prawns in tomato sambal, coconut pudding and chocolate cake. I must say every dish was 10/10, absolutely superb. My favourite Malaysian dish is laksa and this ticked every box. Just the right spice level and flavoursome. Highly recommend! Will come again for sure.
Fabulous, authentic Malaysian food. Great little find. Would recommend, especially if you like Laksa! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free and veggie options available.
My friend was running late and the staff could not have been nicer about it, so friendly and accommodating. To top it all off the food was delicious - I highly recommend the prawns in tomato sambal and the potato curry puffs.Food: 5/5
