Just the worst case of making up weight with fat I have ever come across in 24 years of home and professional cooking, across UK & Europe. The rolled pork I slow cooked for 3 hours then finished at 270° for crackling had such a huge line of fat left in the centre that it did not render: there was so much! Avoid this place since Sam left, but if you must buy here, do not buy vacuum packed produce as they are hiding their cowboy practices and ripping you off!
Bought a T bone steak that cost over £10 it was frozen, I said it didn’t matter as I was going to put it in freezer. I opened it ready for Sunday tea. It was green, it went straight in the bin, so much for a treat for my husband.
Not happy, made sure on Friday that they would have 2 T-Bone Steaks for Tuesday which I was advised would be available and went today to be told none available. I have in the past asked for Veal and they say it will be in next week but when I go in they do not have this either. Poor show. I thought we wanted to keep high street shops open. What's the point when they don't have what you have asked for.
Appalling attitude of owner. Ordered a large turkey and when I went to collect gave me a tiny bird. No apology just take it or leave it.. Thank god for Choice Meats.!!
A good, reliable, old fashioned butchers Shop. Excellent meat, well presented and reasonably priced. Well organised for Covid too.
You can't beat Cleggs our local village Butchers, they sell excellent quality meats the staff are knowledgeable, friendly & helpful you can't ask for more
