I went for a birthday meal with a friend. We arrived half an hour early but we were still seated. The wait staff were very friendly and efficient. Our food and drink order was taken and delivered in good time. The food was excellent. We both ordered the streak - one medium rare the other very well done. Both were cooked to perfection to our own taste. We shared a desert but it was still too much so we took it home in a doggie back. We should have stuck to the cocktails.... I used to work here 30 years ago and whilst it has changed greatly in size and decor it still has the friendly family feel. I talked about old times with the manager and he gifted me with a book about John and Gip and their journey with the restaurant - I can't wait to start reading it! All in all an amazing evening. I couldn't recommend it enough!
Have been coming to salvos for many years and what has always impressed me is the consistency in the quality of the food and service. The menu is always varied and delicious, with a really good wine/cocktail/mocktail selection. I usually get the new risotto on the menu as they really knock this out of the park but everything I’ve ever had from salvos has been top tier. Great for a family night out or a date and the staff are always so lovely and friendly. Will continue to go for many years to come I’m sure! Parking: Street parking nearby or some parallel spaces outside, usually get filled up so occasionally park in headingley and walk over
Great service. Lasagne was supposed to take 20 mins but came in 5. The quality was very good. Large selection of wines too. Would recommend for date nights.Food: 4/5

I have a favorable impression of the Italian cuisine served at the establishment. The cleanliness of the restaurant, the deliciousness of the food, and the friendliness of the staff are all commendable. The location is also quite charming. We booked for a family birthday meal for my mum’s 83rd birthday and I can’t fault the atmosphere, table we were given, food or the service. We had a toddler with us as well as a newborn baby and we felt there was enough room for a pram so the baby could sleep whilst we ate. Because our youngest needed feeding, she and her parents were the last ones to join us a little late but we were never made to feel rushed by the staff. There was some drawing for our toddler and staff brought out the cake we had supplied them with, at an appropriate moment so we could sing happy birthday. Everyone loved their meals and any left overs were boxed up for us to take home. A lovely family restaurant that has stood the rest of time my parents ate here in the seventies and my husband and I in the eighties and noughties and it is as good now as it always has been. A reputation well deserved
Came in last night for dinner, were greeted by Alex in the bar, he looked after us and showed us down to our table. We ordered mozzarella and burata starters, followed by the lasagne and fruiti di mare- both meals were excellent, with amazing service. Also, my gluten allergy was well looked after here, super accommodating staff and overall lovely.
Everything about this place is really nice. Definitely one of those Italian must visit hotspots. We tried a couple of pizzas, pastas and lasagne. The lasagne could’ve been cheesier but that’s a personal preference. Would highly recommend.Food: 5/5
The most wonderful dining experience. Food was delicious, the staff were so kind and the atmosphere was wonderful. Came to Leeds for my 50th birthday weekend and this visit absolutely made it, so thank you. We'll definitely be back when we're next in Leeds.Food: 5/5
Good atmosphere with excellent food and good service. Only gripe really, would be the excessively huge portions, particularly the giant starters and the calzone Maybe it's a feature of modern Britain to pile food high to represent 'good value', but it puts me off really. This binge-portioning is the reason for 4 stars, otherwise very good
