High Salvington Windmill originally called Durrington Mill with a 'date' of 1700 inscribed above the door is a Grade II listed post mill in High Salvington, Sussex that has been restored and is in full working order. Standing at 320-ft above sea level, the mill enjoys the advantages of incoming sea winds off the English Channel.nnThe High Salvington Windmill Trust acquired the mill in late 2007, and had completed restoration by 2009. All the ongoing maintenance and restoration work at the mill is carried out by the volunteer 'millwrights'.
They do a lovely guided tour inside the windmill and if you're lucky, the mill gets repositioned while you're having a tour. It still grinds too. There's a coffee shop and tidbits you can buy on site. All for a kiss.
Open days are brilliant for kids and adults. Lots to do for only a few pence..games are only 30p to 50p a go.. you can also do a tour of the windmill.
Good place to go and was interesting and the car show was good just thought it was goin to be bigger
Beautiful place to spend an afternoon. Family- & dog-friendly. £1 entry & £1 tours. Small coffee shop & gift shop. Very interesting tour from Jeff, who was an enthusiastic & friendly volunteer
