What a lovely park this is. Very scenic with lots of nice areas like a lake and play areas and a rose garden and the building itself is beautiful. The public toilets near the play area were terrible and in need of an urgent overhaul. The car park is small and a long distance from the play areas but other than that it was well worth going for the day.
This is a lovely large park in Low Fell, it contains a large pond / lake, a land train, a cafe, a playground area for small ones and another area for large kids, bird area and little gardens. Our trip to the park also gave us a mixture of weather, the trees gave us a bit of shelter! The kids loved running about and we also tried out the cafe. It was a lovely place to visit, although I would steer clear of the toilets unless you really need to go!
My favorite park. Very local and it has got everything for a family day out. Park, ponds, rose garden, the maze, the towers, and many great spots to discover! The only thing that is of a concern is the WC as they close around 3pm, sometimes before that during summer, so plan ahead!
The park has so many different areas. The lake, play area for the children, the wide open spaces for dogs to have a good run. Lovely and peaceful walks. Saltwell Towers has a cafe which provides food and drink.Barbecue grills: No
Very good and large park, 3 separate play areas, toilet blocks close by. Ice cream van lake with boating when open in the summer the tower's. Cafe and toilets the maze . Lots to do and see here.
Good place for Sunday walk, lots of path, plenty green spaces, picnic tables. Great play area for kids all ages. Amazing maze
Absolutely excellent. Free car park that's tarmacked and decent amount of space, large paths good for space and pushchairs, lovely lake, large play areas catering to all ages, and a cute little maze for the kids. We will be back again for sure. There was a doughnut truck making fresh doughnuts that were 4 for £4 took card, a train ride round the lake was £2.50 per person took card, and seed bags for the birds £0.50 cash only. There were model boat enthusiasts there with a few cool model boats whizzing on the water. Plenty of walks through the area and a cafe. Lots of grey but still cute squirrels too!
Haven't been to Saltwell park in a long long time... the last time was when Saltwell tower was seriously rundown.. Anyhoo it was nice t see it well spuced up n looking tremendous... other parts of the park haven't changed a great deal apart from the maze which was nee higher than me shoes is noow just shorter than me heed & a good challenge for tiddly peeps but me bein over 6ft 4 can cheat... & There's a section enclosed so you can let ya dog off lead to have a run aboot. The only downside was the amount of clutter in the dene... nee pic's but pink fence cordens were scattered throughout the dene all the way down to the pond @ the bottom.. needs a bit TLC
Great place for all the family to enjoy a day out. Why not take a picnic and make a day of it. There's plenty to see and do. A good cafe serving both hot and cold food along with tea and coffee.
We really had a great time. One of the best thing to go out with a family. It's really huge and well maintained park by the Gateshead council . It has tennis court, zoo, slides, kids fun activities etc.. maze. A train ride is also available inside the park. It also has a jogging ‍ track and there are free running activities on weekends and weekdays to join. The only thing it's hard to find a parking on a busy bright day. So the best to psrk off street. Love to go back again.
