Delightful place to attend. This was my second time, great service, and delicious food for all the family. Well worth the visit, even if you climb the stairs The only thing I’ve not tried yet are the desserts, but I’m positive they will not disappoint either The ambiance is warm and welcoming, making it a perfect spot for both casual meals and special occasions. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure you have a pleasant experience. Looking forward to my next visit, and I’ll definitely save room for dessert!
This was a pleasant experience, as part of a Mother's Day visit to Salts Mill. Due to the open plan / ex-factory floor environment it can be quite noisy, especially when it's busy. You can also expect a queue when it's busy, unless you book a table in advance. Service is good. Friendly and proficient. The menu is fairly modest but there is also a specials board to bolster the selection. The food is good, nothing particularly special but fresh and tasty. Portion sizes are reasonable as are the prices. Vegetarian options: There's a few options on the menu. Parking: There's a large free carpark for Salts Mill, although there's a short walk to get to the building. Kid-friendliness: There's no kids menu but they serve smaller versions of the main menu. This isn't the best if your child is a fussy eater. Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant area is flat with good spacing between the tables. I believe Salts Mill has a lift to access the floors but worth checking.
We had a amazing breakfast here the staff were amazing, so helpful, pleasant, polite, we will definitely be visiting here again the view from the window where we sat was lovely and the place where the diner is situated within salt mills was so beautifulFood: 5/5
This site is great. The restaurant is always busy and booking is a top idea. You can book there and come back but on busy days you'll have to pre book. They offer a wide range of food of great value as portions are good and food is very well cooked and presented. Cost is fair in this day and age and staff are friendly and efficient. There's always a queue waiting to be seated. They seem to have gotten things right. Long may it last. Parking: Getting to the free parking area is not straight forwards and on the quiet day mid week it was three quarters full. Be there early on a busy weekend. Wheelchair accessibility: Over several floors the site restaurant is up a level but there. Is a lift to get there
Amazing restaurant with tasty food, quick service, and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff was friendly and efficient. A perfect spot for any dining occasion!Food: 4/5
We love Salts Diner and always treat ourselves to a burger when we visit Salts Mill, the Staff are lovely and the food is tasty. Sadly we’ll think twice about going again as £45 is pushing it for two burgers, two coffees and a bottle of water especially considering how much the portions have dwindled! ShameFood: 3/5
Salts Diner is a great place for a bite to eat because of the setting and service from the staff. It's a really cool restaurant - really open plan in the old Salt Mill with the kitchen in the middle. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was OK, but I would have expected something a little more for the prices on the menu. We had pizza the special and it was very simple and something I could create myself at home quite easily. Nothing mind-blowing. The cakes all sounded really good but I'm not sure how "freshly home baked" they are. The scone was really tasty and slightly warm, which is a really nice touch, with local butter! Yum! The whole place is branded with a dog, by David Hockney, who also has work in one of the galleries. The dog on everything including the waiters' and waitresses' tshirts is quite funny and adds an extra bit of character to the place. The rest of the building has galleries, shops and an exhibition with a bit about the history of the place, which is interesting. All in all, Salts Diner is a nice place for a bite to eat in Saltaire.
Loved the soup and drinks Pizza was great The staff were brilliant Food: 5/5
The space is lovely, although can be noisy at time with the open kitchen. However I am disappointed with the offer, especially for children. We were there with a 6, and two 3 year old children. There is no children's menu, and were told they can get a smaller and cheaper version of adult meals which is fine - we discovered later that the price of kids dishes were £10!!!! It's incredible to have such prices, and not even displayed - I would have just shared a pizza with my daughter had I known! Though I should admit that the £3.80 not barista like flat white + £0.80 oat milk should have raised the alarm. How can you charge the cost of half a carton of oat milk for literally 50ml of it. I am shocked they profit from people with dietary requirements or those who go for sustainability etc. in 2024... it's incredible. I will visit again next year, hoping they take feedback into account. Affordable KIDS MENU + Free or cheap milk alternatives will make me update my review next time.
Arrived at the diner at 11.30 and there was no queue. Several tables were free. A gentleman who appeared to be a manager no uniform showed us to a table for 2 and told us that the table was needed at 12 so we would have to be finished by then. He took away the menu & said only cake & toasted food was available. At that point we felt very rushed & had to call a waitress over to take our order asap in view of our limited time. The waitress was lovely. We ordered a pot of tea for 2 and 2 toasted current Tcakes. Service was quick but we were only given 2 small butters and jam. Had to ask for more butter & gave jam back. Total bill was over £16. I thought this was very expensive for our order. My main reason for only 1 star was because of the comment from the ‘manager’ that the table was needed at 12. Found that quite rude and unwelcoming!
