Moved from BG to Saltire over a year ago after getting messed around with their couldn’t care less attitude and having to wait 5 days to get a minor issue frozen condensing pipe resolved that left us without heating and hot water during a really cold spell. Ended up googling and resolving the issue myself but that was enough to end my relationship with BG. Decided to move our business to a local company. Recently, one of our bathroom Radiators started leaking and I called Saltire. In fairness, they attended within 4 hrs - impressive compared to BG. However, I then had a conversation with the engineer about “designer radiators” and that it would be classed as a chargeable repair. Matter was referred to a manager. I then received a call from John Higgins manager and he sprung into action. Sent one of his best engineers and the problem was identified / repaired without any further fuss. Very impressed with John and his “customer comes first” attitude. Well done.Service: Heating system repair
1st visit no show 2nd visit forgot my fault 3rd visit phoned the night before to cancel but came anyway to service the boiler unfortunately wasn’t in as it been cancelled but anyway they thought well since it’s winter and minus 3 at night let’s cap his gas so no heating or hot water so his family can suffer and his kids can freeze all night. Phone up can get an engineer for over 36 hours and cap had be done due to the boiler needing a service what the boiler is now going to kill everybody because you never done your service great news cheers
Brilliant dealership. Lots of very cool bikes at Alba Customs and in the main floor of Saltire. Staff are really friendly and knowledgeable, the cafe is great, the service and repair work I’ve had done is always to an extremely high standard and they take real pride in the work. I did my riding training here and the instructors are superb. Very patient and friendly with a confidence inspiring teaching style. It’s the kind of place I feel comfortable dropping in on if I’m passing and it’s the kind of dealer that invests in motorcyclists. Which is always a smart move.
Got in touch with Saltire back at the start of April 2022 about getting solar PV install. The initial conversations were great, very helpful, came out to survey and were accommodating to my needs. Agreed to go ahead at the start of May and was given an install date of 19th July as one of the parts inverter I wanted wasn't in stock. I was fine with this as I explained to them, I would much rather get a realistic date confirmed than a "maybe" one that keeps moving. About 2 weeks before the install was due it all started going downhill. I got in touch with them up to confirm everything was on track. The particular person I had been dealing with was off on planned leave and no one could see the record to tell me. The following week 1 week before the install was due I got in touch again to be told the inverter wasn't in stock yet. I asked what could be done, I even pointed out some suppliers that were selling it, their offer was that they remove the inverter from the quote and deal with it separately because that wasn't their normal supplier. Unsurprisingly I didn't go ahead as that seemed like a problem waiting to happen down the line. Several chases with no real progress later we're now 1 day out from planned install date. I still can't get get a confirmed date, install definitely isn't going ahead on the planned date. A couple of days later now the 20th July I get an email saying they have now managed to secure an inverter but they're just waiting on roof hooks which should be available in the next week or so. We now get to the point where Saltire just stop answering my emails. I send several chasers and two weeks after this I get an email saying, they now have roof mounts but guess what, THEY DON'T HAVE ANY SOLAR PANELS! I replied asking if they actually have the other parts inverter and mounts in stock or will there come a time when they have solar panels but the others are unavailable again? This was about a week ago and they haven't bothered answering me. I've now missed a month of peak sun and have absolutely no idea when I'm actually getting solar panels installed. It's impossible to get an update and when I do it's usually to tell me about a new issue. In summary, Saltire are great when they're selling you stuff, but the complete opposite when it comes to actually doing the work.
I have been with Saltire for about 5 years now and I'll continue to be a customer with them . Their service is exceptional and the monthly service agreement is excellent value. The personnel who take the calls are friendly, courteous yet professional and always offer advice. The engineers are very good and take the time to explain any faults they may find. This is the first time I've had to call them out fir an issue with my central heating and it would have cist me a lot more than I pay for my service agreement. I would recommend Saltire Management Services to anyone who is considering taking out a service agreement
