We recently visited the Salford Museum for a junk model insect session. While the concept sounded fun, the session was less interactive than expected. It mainly involved picking up materials and crafting something on your own, which felt a bit uninspired for kids. That said, the museum itself is lovely and worth a visit. There are some enjoyable coloring activities available for children, and the café offers a nice spot to relax. Overall, it's a pleasant place to spend some time, though the workshop could be more engaging.
I absolutely liked it, especially Victoria Street! The gallery is just bursting with amazing artwork, and Victoria Street has this magical charm. Definitely a must-visit spot for art lovers!"Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
Payment: Digital accepted Parking: available for max time limit Entry Fee: No Cleanliness: very well maintained Donations: Requested Shopping: Souvenirs, books, gifts Food: Cafe Children’s friendly Was able to witness a birthday party of 70 year old person. Well decorated. The art museum was clean and happy smiling staffs were more welcoming. Baby feeding room/ Quiet room is available Toilets are clean. View to park is great to spend time here by reading books or having a cup of coffee.
The victorian street is immersive and interesting to walk around, a lot of fine detail has gone into each shop. You look through windows, not actually entering the shops. The victorian art was impressive, with work showing many places around the UK.
I visited Salford Museum and Art Gallery with my wife and our friend in Spring 2024 and we really enjoyed seeing the work of Salford born Artist and Photographer, Harold Riley. I learned a lot about his life and work, documenting Salford and his fellow Salfordians. The staff were great and the building is disabled friendly with a ramp up to the entrance and a lift to the exhibits upstairs. Free entry, donations are welcome.
Good gallery with museum and fascinating hidden street Lark Hill Place, an atmospheric victorian street. The life- size street transport you back in time with original front shops and objects. Free to visit, donations welcome. Cafe and gift shop.Visited onWeekendWait time1 hr+Reservation recommendedNo
This experience is great for anyone interested in history in our local area! There's lots to look at in a small space and there's also an art gallery which is good because the different pictures all have different interpretations and you can really see a story from them. The food is nice too. I wouldn't spend a full day here but I would recommend visiting
Great place to spend a couple of hours wandering around the exhibitions. And it's free! The staff are all lovely, chatty and really helpful. Great soup and coffee for lunch in the café too.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
