This station is on the Manchester to Altincham line with frequent services in both directions. It's only a couple of minutes walk to the town centre so very convenient if you're visiting Sale. The station itself is maybe a bit rundown but you're only going to be there for a matter of minutes so it's adequate for a short wait.
Give me a if helpful.nWell, 7 years after my first review and nothing much has changed. The stairs to platforms are dirty, look as if they haven't been swept for months and everything looks neglected. Looks run down, just old buildings with a lick of paint. We need to take more pride in this country and take note of how some of our continental European neighbours do things. The service from this station is by and large good.
Sale is very nice. Lots of good shops. Good pubs, wine bars and restaurants. Tram stop to manchester.
They are trying to redevelop the shopping area and turn it into a buzzing place to eat and drink and its largely working. Like Altrincham though, I don't think much of the shopping, not much choice so wouldn't go for clothes etc.
Used car park to catch a tram to Manchester. Value for money. Tram efficient way of travelling.
