I was going to buy a wetsuit here but was put off by the rUdeness and unhelpful service from an older female member of staff. I ended up going to trioceansurf in Kingsbridge who were amazing. Go there instead!

In the past I used the boat store numerous times, but not any more! I needed a replacement paddle for my tender - a wave eco style 1.64 m paddle was needed, I'd been quoted £34 for a pair by my local chandler, but it would be a week before they arrived. Salcombe boat store had them in , but wanted £34 EACH. Yes that's 100% more than other chandlers like force 4, THATS A RIP OFF. I recommend you to use somewhere else unless you have money to burn or are absolutely desperate.

We have been regular visitors to the Salcombe estuary for over 3 decades and have seen many changes over the years. Thankfully, the Boatstore has thrived, in no small measure thanks to the helpful staff and extensive stock. Ignoring the marine element for a moment, most small (inland) villages and towns do not have the benefit of such a comprehesive store of hardware items. Running a small craft always means running repairs and the Salcombe Boat Store has always got what we needed!
