Situated some 0.75Km South West of the village of Llanrug not far from Caernarfon this robust small church dates back in parts to between the 13th and 17th Century but the major broadly inclusive restoration happened in 1904. The main large cemetery is beautifully maintained and very neat whereas the older graveyard surrounding the church is more at one with nature in an appealing way. Large trees embrace the side of the church opposite the access road in front of it. There are warnings about unstable graves as you enter the churchyard and care is needed when negotiating this area. It is not overgrown here in my opinion just quite tightly embraced by nature herself as stated above. It all has a rural charm. Dedicated and signposted car park of it's own and splendid mountain views on a clear day.
A beautiful churchyard in a stunning area of Wales. Is very well kept, to the credit of the grounds staff. The views are beautiful from here, always peaceful and quiet, clean and tidy. Makes visiting a friend much easier.
