Saint Johns Way Medical Centre

I filled in the online preregistration over a week ago and came this morning to finish the registration but was sent back home because I didn't print out the forms and filled them in by heart. So spent 2 hours going to work to print all the forms and filling them in again to come back and give them up at the reception. I mentioned that the website of the medical center should be updated to reflect that even if one fills the online forms, they still need to bring them printed out. Once I returned the forms and confirmed the address I was told it will be 3-5 days for the registration to come through. When I asked the person that was handling my case how will I know if my registration is complete because I need this for an appointment at another medical centre, a lady also working at the reception cut in, gave me a leaflet and said that "It will take 3-5 days, have a good day", not answering my question and signaling me to leave, which I found very rude. I found the whole experience very frustrating (I wasted a lot of time on preregistration online which apparently gives me nothing and in fact I still need to print out the forms myself and fill them out by hand).

Pretty poor service all round. Having not booked an appointment for a number of years I was shocked when I tried to see a Dr and was told the next available appointment was in 3.5 weeks time. Have now moved surgery and had an appointment within 48 hours.

Incredibly rude staff at reception. They seemed incapable of finding my pre-registration form/printing it out and called me Larry. Then told me I was being rude when I said I wasn't going to wait and took back the additional papers from the - awful - receptionist. Left feeling humiliated and guilty for their incompetence. Have decided not to go back and to keep my old practice even if it's inconvenient for me.

Now I know where the comments about rude reception staff come from. Unfortunately I experienced it myself and it wasn't pleasant. I called to make an appointment and was provided with a date and time. The gruff sounding lady wasn't speaking clearly so I politely asked her to repeat the date, after all it is in no one's best interests to turn up on the wrong date. She didn't sound impressed and mumbled the date again. I found myself in the embarrassing position of asking her to repeat the date again as I genuinely couldn't make out if she was saying 1st or 3rd. She barked the date down the phone at me and then hung up! Wow! That is simply unacceptable as there was absolutely no reason for to display such a bad attitude. A person like that, who is so rude, should not be dealing with the general public. I was really shocked. It's a shame really, as this is a nice practice with nice reception staff however they're being totally let down by one rude member of staff.

Always been able to get an appointment when needed (especially for kids). Staff are very helpful and our experience of doctors (they have quite a few!) and nurses was always good
