We're fortunate to have this sainsburys garage just down the road and it has been, since it opened, our go to place for a quick fix dinner. The staff are always very helpful and though it can get busy their very good at sorting through the ques.nHowever,..... in the last month or so something has massively changed in the organisation of the stock on the shelves. For example the bread isle has been split putting some single baked goods in one aisle and loafs in another. Single chocolate bars in a small section near the sandwiches and the rest of chocolate confectionary in another isle, single packet crisp and multi packs exactly the same. With alot of foods downsized and alot of popular stock discontinued, leaving a minimum selection. You spend most of you time just searching for an item that you can't find. Leaving you no choice but to go up the road to another store finding exactly what you need. Again, not a reflection on the staff that work there, they are are always welcoming and informative.
Got everything you need even a bunch of sour faced no eye contact staff most of whom just wonder around stacking or moving stuff around on shelves even when there is a queue they are programmed to wait for a bell before realising the one person serving customers needs help, obviously can't think for themselves
I had just been to the Sainsbury's petrol station at Yalburton to fill up and found the entrance coned off 35 mins before the petrol station closing time on Google. Drove to the Sainsbury's petrol station at Brixham. At 2215 cars were queuing out into New Rd as only one lane of the four pumps had not been coned off. Google closing time for this petrol station is 2300. More pumps should be available until that time. Drivers were inconvenienced and delayed by this unnecessary queueing which caused frustration and blocked entry for others to the petrol station and store. Maybe this is intentional?...
Got some petrol and other bits, there was jo one else in the que. I stood waiting at the till whilst there were 3 colleagues standing behind the tills. Not one of them acknowledged me, said hello, or can I help. I felt a bit awkward, to be honest, I put my stuff down on the till to try and prompt a response, but they were busy talking about what bread was upstairs in the staff room. Quite poor service when you think about it
Basic service station but over run with people shopping and only limited parking spots.
