I went to the sales counter for a disposable fork, the cashier did not understand my pronunciation of a fork when seems to be her walked by colleague understood what I said. Then she went gave me two forks, and LECTURING me how to pronounce 'Fork'.nDid not expect myself to lecture in English by someone in a supermarket when they cant listen properly. What a experience on a Sunday. Will never approach that desk if the lady is working.
A massive shout out to the team at Sainsbury’s and a special mention to Barry from click and collect. We arrived at the store at literally 1 minute past 9 and after sitting in the car for 20 minutes with no sign of anybody or a van coming to bring us our shopping we called the fabulous customer service team who left us on hold for a total of 25 minutes. I took the plunge and decided to go to the customer service desk and ask what was going on only to be told that he had gone on break and would be back in another 20 minutes! Great! I thought I’ll go and sit outside in the cold for another 20 minutes because I don’t have anything going on in my life today. Now I’ll give Barry his due he did pull up in his van 20 minutes later but guess what? Without our food! He told us that he left us a voice mail he didn’t saying that he would wait till 10 past 9 for us and at 10 past 9 he took our food back to the store and went on break. Top work from a top bloke not only have I had fabulous service today but lied to as well. Anyway I had to go back in to customer service to get them to bring my shopping to the front of the store where upon inspection I noticed that for completly free I had some puddle water thrown in with my some of my shopping! And they say you don’t get anything for free nowadays! Amazing! Anyway a massive thank you to the team for wasting an hour of my life maybe it would be an idea to have more than one person working a department to cover things like breaks? Idk just a idea
Don't use a Coinstar machine in Sainsbury's! I had two vouchers—one for around £9 and another for about £3. I was charged nearly £2 in fees, and when I tried to use the vouchers at the till, I was told they could only be exchanged for cash, not for purchases.nnIn the end, I cashed them in at Sainsbury's, but they insisted on paying me separately for each voucher. And to make things worse, they gave me coins again! This feels like outright robbery.
Only ever get a few items at Sainsbury's now as it is very expensive. Used the self serve till today. There was a big queue which is understandable as it is a busy time of the year. Spotted a free till, then noticed that an item was scanned in the till already. Asked the assistant if she could clear it so I get my shopping scanned in. She looked at me accusingly and said that someone must have scanned the item and not paid. It was nothing to do with me. I do understand that shop lifting is a big problem these days, but please do not assume that all shoppers are going to do it!!!!! Rude.
The layout has changed a lot over the year. Moving the sandwich stuff to the back wall instead of near the front of the store is probably to make you buy more, but is annoying when you're on a lunch break. Otherwise good facilities, the baby changing room has been out of order twice in the past 6 months which is frustrating. The Argos is good. Standard large Sainsbury's, convenient location.
