Went to this Sainsbury’s for a weekly shop and used “scan and shop”. Got to the checkout and the hand held scanner said that I needed assistance and 5 of my items needed to be scanned. This had happened before nothing out of the ordinary. I understand it’s for security reasons. No sales assistant in the scan and shop area so I look over to the self checkout and try to gain the attention of two sales assistants that are chatting. A lady comes over and I show her my handheld display. She scans a few items and turns out I had forgot to scan a sweet treat. I felt horrible about my mistake! She said she would now have to scan all my shopping to make sure I had not missed anything else. Of course I completely understand. I start to unpack my shopping so the lady can scan it all and she asked me “ how did you forget to scan that ?!” I explained again that it was a mistake. This made me feel even worse. After she had scanned all the items she leaves them all on a table on the side and says “ You can take them now! “ not in a very nice tone of voice. So I proceed to pack my shopping again and go over to pay. The sales assistant then continues to watch me pay. Hear me out … I understand that I have made a mistake. And I will take full accountability. But what I do not appreciate is being made to feel like I’m some criminal and then being watched as I pay, as if I would not pay and just run away now! Of course I am going to pay for my shopping. Moral of the story is I’ve made a mistake and was made to feel horrible. I will take a little break from that shop
I don't like the new layout, I think it's very messy. It does not make sense to spread the same products across multiple locations. Also, I find the purple shelves not very conducive for shopping. I used to like shopping at Sainsbury's, it was one of the most uncluttered and easiest supermarkets to navigate. The new layout is very cluttered and confusing.
My husband and I visit this store regularly and enjoy a Starbucks before we do our weekly shop, after spending over £800 Christmas shopping between Argos and Sainsbury’s on Black Friday we received a parking fine of £85, we usually spend 2 and a half hours doing our weekly shop but due to the large queues as it was Black Friday we ended up spending 3 hours and 20 minutes there. We did ask a colleague before the 3 hour mark if we’d be ok or if we should leave our trolley and head back to the car and she informed me as we would have proof that we had been a customer then a ticket would be reversed, now that the fine has been issued it’s impossible to get hold of anybody from the shop and the online care team are useless.
Great stores. Lots of choice, loads of parking, a lovely Starbucks inside and a walkway straight through to Cheshire Oaks.
Large Sainsbury's shop.nPlenty of parking.nI popped for some groceries during visit to the outlet shops and was pleasantly surprised. Clean, nicely sorted and staff was helpful.
