Not going back to Sainsbury’s , going to travel a bit to Morrisons. Been in a few times and it’s self service with a trolley don’t mind a few items being disabled find this very difficult. Staff are lovely but no check outs open for me is not good enough.
So this is new. Big shop, Monday night I say nigh, it was just after 8pmand there are NO big tills in operation... "you have to ask" the already overworked person in control of about 20 self services checkouts, who then has to go off and fine someone to operate the till. 15 minutes waiting. Such diabolical service and all so Sainsbury's can save the cost of employing someone to operate the till, and at MY EXPENSE! Utterly infuriating. When the checkout operator did come she was apologetic and perfectly lovely with me, almost agreeing with my frustration. Anyways.
18/7/24 At approx 5:10pm was spent £112 at self service . Had to go back in because I forgot a birthday card. At the self service red light flashing and no assistance so I just went to another self service port . When the assistant finally arrived she said “ were you at this checkout?” I said yes . She said “you are supposed to tell us when you do that ! Now I need to go get a security guard!” I said sorry your problems are not mine . She then said “it’s me that needs to work here not you “ I felt undervalued as a good customer and felt reprimanded by her . Very rude . I have never heard of a security guard being called for the checkout?? I thought it would have been no problem to void the transaction?? Terrible manners toward the public absolutely disappointed in Sainsbury
Great store, well stocked, has toilets and a couple of other small stores inside including Argos. No cafe though which is a shame.
We hired a room for our 25th anniversary family meal. Ideal venue with very helpful and friendly staff. The meal was appreciated by all , thank you for helping to make it a memorable evening.

Lovely and clean with helpful staff and manned checkouts. Cashiers friendly and chatty. Much prefer this to self checkout.
Seems to have everything you'd want from a supermarket shop - however, I'm not sure about shopping being discounted by using a Nectar card. I have a card, but its not used too often, so Nectar have previously zeroed my points balances in the past, so it seems that I'm being "forced" to shop regularly at Sainsbury, or risk losing any points that I've accrued.
