Service was incredibly fast for a weekend. The dim sum was great. The only problem was that it is a little difficult to get there or even getting there, there is a car park….. but you can park at B&Q where it’s free and walk over. I walked 15 minutes from the O2, it’s nice and open until you get close to the myriad of roads you have to cross to get there.
Came here for lunch for dim sum. Can’t express how disappointed I was with the food here. The prawn chungfun was soggy and prawns were not fresh all all. The chicken in the Chicken crispy noodles had something very funny about it. Almost like they had processed it so that it was soft, but it smelled gone off. The monk’s vegetables was very salty. The dim sum was also a let down. Attaching photos. Won’t be coming here again.
One of the most authentic Hong Kong style dim sum restaurant in London. Some of the dishes are rarely found outside like deep fried cutter fish cake. Price is somehow reasonable in London style. Be expected the service is really local Hong Kong style, but not British warm welcoming. But it’s really a good place to experience Hong Kong local food and dining culture.
As a Hongkonger, I love yum cha and dim sum so much. This is my first time to have Canton yum cha in Britain, I feel very satisfied here. Their dim sums are very good. Quality is similar to Hong King’s restaurants but of course much more expensive. I just dunno why the waiters handed me all the dim sums but not put them on the table.
Dim sum is quite alright; staff are friendly! Occasionally, the freshness/quality of the ingredient is concerning. Parking is quite expensive around £3-ish and the minimum parking time is 6hours which is unreasonably as lower 2hr parking option should have been available to motivate more people to come.
Last time we were here was 3 years ago and both service and food was below average compared to that from the past years However we came back to try dim sum at Saikei again on 9th April and was pleased to find that the restaurant has improved on food seasoning and service was friendlier. However, prices have increased by at least £1 to £3 per dish. See menu photos to compare. Teapot is charged at £1.50 per person. You will also have to ask for the chilli oil & sauce/other table condiments. The seating system is by you come in & tell front of house person in charge how many people dining and will then be handed a ticket number keep this safe as you will need to give it to the person calling your number to be seated. There are a few seats in the waiting area. NOTE: it is not 1st come, 1st serve. Other groups or people will be seated before you even if they came after you as they go by the vacant table by number of seats/people: a big group may be seated before a couple or vice versa. Plenty of pay online onsite parking - instructions are clearly displayed outside, around the restaurant & on the menu. But if you can walk about 10 mins, you can park in the nearby Odeon/pizza hut/B&Q/IKEA car park free parking for 5hrs every day. Ordering is by marking the quantity required by the dish you want on the paper provided once seated. Any other dishes not on the dim sum menu but you know is on the dinner menu may be requested when the waiter/waitress comes to take the ordering paper. The bill has automatically added the service charge on it. Sakei also has takeaway service for their food/dim sum as well as the special whole suckling pig.
Nice little dim sum place with lots of seafood options. The dim sum menu is not that big but the food is still very tasty. It does get quite busy but the service is good and the staff are friendly and helpful.Food: 5/5
This restaurant is quite an unknown restaurant, more like if you know, then you know but if not then you wouldn't even know it's here type of place. Although its been at this location for a long time. The food on the other hand, it's the food is delicious. Can be pricey but with the quality of food you receive then you won't complain. They serve dim sum from mid day to late afternoon which is nice for a light snack if you want. But the main can still be ordered. The decor seems a little out dated but nonetheless I would recommend giving this place a try. Staff are also friendly. A good venue for special occasions too
Very terrible experience bad food, long waiting and bad service. We ordered some dim sum and stirred beef noodle. They forgot the salt the first time, we asked for exchange the new portion, and they even forgot to put the salt the second time!!! It is unforgivable. Because they just fool us by putting dark soy source to change the colour. Besides, because the noodle is too tasteless, we asked for soy sauce and oysters source. They even about to charge us for the sauce!!! The reason we request is their food doesn’t have SALT. We waited 45 ‘minutes to be seated. The food is terrible. All the staff are unfriendly. Do not come.
Very rude staff. Started when we said no to the tea offered instead we wanted cold drinks which they did not seem happy about. We where ignored numerous times when wanting to order. Food was slammed onto the table. Couple next to us ended up walking out as they had asked and asked and waited 25 minutes for someone to serve us. Very racist too. The staff where all well and good when it come to helping the many people in the restaurant who where part of the Chinese community but other people where left. We where made to feel very uncomfortable and stared at the whole time there. The food was not too bad but over priced especially for the quality of service recieved. And also a tip was charged to our bill along with 3 items we did not order and where made to pay this as apparently "had no proof" of not ordering. Would be a great place if the staff changed their attitudes and took a customer service class. Parking: We paid our parking through the hotel next door to which we wherebstayong and the restaurant wanted us to pay more through theirs.
